Southwest Florida Voices

The Southwest Florida Gay & Lesbian Chorus was formed in 1993, at the initiative of Doug Gathers and a small group of founders, despite the problems that would undeniably come with his "coming out" publicly. Since our founding in 1993, we have been a LGBTQ-friendly and all-inclusive 5013c non-profit organization. This group participates in local, regional, and national performances.

Southwest Pride

The Lawton Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society was organized in 1963 and chartered in 1965. The Duncan Chapter was chartered in 1973. In 1982 the two chapters merged to form the Southwest Pride Chorus. We are laymen from all walks of life who love to sing the old harmony songs. We work hard but we have fun while we are working. We sing for various groups around the area and sometimes compete in the Northwest Division and Southwest District level of the Barbershop Harmony Society. Any man interested in "busting a chord" with us can attend our regular meetings.

Southwest Sound

Southwest Sound, the performing chorus for the Fort Worth Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society (BHS), is an a cappella chorus based on the four part close harmony barbershop style of singing. We have been providing entertainment in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex and surrounding areas for almost 70 years.

Southwest Vocal Alliance

Southwest Vocal Alliance is Arizona's premiere award-winning mixed barbershop chorus and 2024 International Qualifier. We're a fun-loving a cappella chorus that sings and performs a wide variety of songs and styles, including barbershop, pop, rock, country, and doo-wop. We're a proud chorus in the Far Western District of the Barbershop Harmony Society.

Southwest Women's Chorus

The Southwest Women's Chorus is an independent organization, founded in 2000 . Its goal is to provide a quality opportunity for choral singers to learn or improve their craft. The chorus sings a wide variety of music, including classical, spiritual, folk, Broadway, and old standards. The group presents two concerts each year, at Christmas and in the Spring. It has performed with the Temecula Vintage Singers and for the Temecula Arts in the Country festival, as well as many local appearences for deserving organizations. SoVoSo

SoVoSo is a highly imaginative a cappella ensemble that sings a unique, rhythmic mix of jazz, gospel, world and R&B music, all rendered in their trademark improvisational style.

The SoVoSo repertoire consists of original compositions and other songs that present a global perspective, from Afro-Latin idioms to traditional funk and jazz arrangements. Two SoVoSo members (Joey Blake, past member, and current member David Worm) are current members of Bobby McFerrin's a cappella group, Voicestra, performing with him from 1993 to present.Currently you will see David Worm, Sunshine Becker, Bryan Dyer and Zoe Ellis in this vocal band line-up, along with other great singers such as Nicolas Bearde, Ashling Cole and Vernon Bush. The SoVoSo family of singers continues to expand as this one of a kind musical project grows and flourishes.

Spanish Fork Chorale

The Spanish Fork Chorale was formed in 1992 and has been performing in the community for Christmas, Easter, and other concerts ever since. The mission of the Spanish Fork Chorale is to enrich the lives of its participants by providing top quality choral direction and music education, encouraging the development of the singer and the individual, building a fun, cohesive, high-quality performing group, and to be a valuable resource and enrich the quality of life in the community by providing meaningful and entertaining performances. In 2006 the choir started hiring professionally trained directors and has seen vast improvement in its sound and audience appeal as a result. The Chorale welcomes anyone 18 and older in Spanish Fork and the surrounding community to join the choir.

The Sparkling City Chorus, located in Corpus Christi Texas, is committed to singing a cappella music in the barbershop style. We are women of all ages and from all walks of life that gather together weekly to sing, learn, and have fun together. Spectrum Choral Academy

ounded in 2012, Spectrum Choral Academy is a 50-voice community choir program for children, teens and college age singers with the purpose of inspiring young people through quality music education and performances. Weekly rehearsals (including music theory instruction for all singers!) are held Saturdays from Sep-June in Gig Harbor, WA. We also offer two choir summer camps (day camp in Gig Harbor / overnight honor choir camp in Stanwood), international choir tour opportunities and invitational youth choir festivals with recognized guest conductors.

Spectrum Singers

Acclaimed by the best critics in Boston's lively musical scene, The Spectrum Singers consistently work to express the composer's intent, and strive to achieve the highest standards of musical expression. John W. Ehrlich - our Music Director for 41 seasons - is known throughout the city for the creativity of his programming. His singers and admirers respect his ability to find and bring out everything the composer seems to wish for-plus a little more.

We aren't a merely social place to come on Monday evenings to just relax and have a good time. We love to sing (we get our endorphins for sure), and we're committed to singing each piece the way it's meant to be sung. We know that this takes work, and we know from experience that hard work on our music creates the kind of exciting, uplifting experience we're all after-in rehearsal and when we perform. One can't "hit the zone" by just showing up. We expect our colleagues to know their scores-notes, texts, rests, dynamics, all of it-well enough by the midpoint of a rehearsal cycle so that we can make real music as we approach a concert. We rehearse in sections for a few weeks, and then we challenge ourselves by singing "hashed" for most concerts. To do this successfully, we have to know our stuff and thus enjoy the challenge of contributing to the harmony with the other voice parts surrounding us.

Speed of Sound

Speed of Sound is a long-distance quartet with over sixty years of combined barbershop experience. Although they've been together for about four years, they've already achieved major accomplishments as Sweet Adeline barbershop singers. In the spring of 2012, they won their very first regional contest (Region 14!) with a record score. They followed that up by placing 12th in the world at the 2012 Sweet Adelines international competition in Denver, Colorado, and then 9th at the 2013 international competition in Hawaii, then 2nd at the 2014 international competition in Baltimore. Most recently, they placed FIRST IN THE WORLD at the Sweet Adelines International competition in Vegas!

Spire Chamber Ensemble

Spire Chamber Ensemble is a virtuoso choir and orchestra comprised of distinctive solo artists who are also committed to the highest level of ensemble performance. These musicians travel to Kansas City to perform together, providing audiences with a rare level of choral music-making found anywhere else in the country. The Spire Baroque Orchestra, encompassing the finest historical players, joins our world-class singers for concerts of unmatched artistic excellence. Established in 2010, Spire has quickly evolved into a national phenomenon, lauded for artistry, innovation and mastery at making music that matters to audiences throughout the country. Now in their 11th season, Spire is regarded as one of the preeminent choral-orchestral chamber ensembles in the United States. Led by Founder and Artistic Director Ben A. Spalding, Spire performs repertoire ranging from Baroque and Classical masterpieces with period instruments to newly commissioned works by Jake Runestad, Zachary Wadsworth, John Muehleisen, and James MacMillan.

Spirit of Southeast Texas Chorus

Spirit of Southeast Texas is a chorus of Sweet Adeline's International. We sing four-part a cappella harmony, in the barbershop style. We sing for the love of singing and to spread that joy to others. Our chorus competes against others in our region annually in the spring. Our region currently includes 15 choruses from Texas, Louisiana and Alabama. In 2010 Spirit scored high enough to compete in the small chorus category at International contest in Seattle.

Currently we are a small chorus with members who range in age from 19 to 75 and who drive from as far away as Newton, TX and Lake Charles, LA to Beaumont for weekly rehearsals. Few of us actually have a background in music, but we all share the love of singing with a group and performing in the Southeast Texas/Southwest Louisiana areas.

Spirit of Spokane Chorus

The Spirit of Spokane Chorus is a community-based group of women singers proud to be affiliated with Sweet Adelines International, headquartered in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Sweet Adelines began in July 1945, when a group of women in Tulsa organized the first chapter. In the ensuing years women's barbershop music spread by leaps and bounds. Today, worldwide membership includes nearly 30,000 women singing in more than 600 chapters and 1200 quartets covering not only the North American Continent, but encompassing choruses in Great Britain, Holland, Sweden, Japan, and Australia, to name a few. Spirit of St Louis Chorus

We perform barbershop harmony in Jefferson and St. Louis Counties, Missouri. Our chapter is the third oldest of the over 800 in the Barbershop Harmony Society, and has been meeting continuously since 1938.

Spokane Area Youth Choirs

Welcome to the Spokane Area Youth Choirs! Through the study, rehearsal, and performance of choral music, Spokane Area Youth Choirs (SAYC) provides a joyful and challenging musical experience for musicians from age seven to 18, with additional programs for younger students and adult women. Choristers will be introduced to healthy vocal technique, music theory, music history, and a variety of literature and performance styles.

Spotlight

Spotlight organized in January 2001. Later that year the quartet won the Region #2 quartet competition which enabled them to compete at the International Quartet Contest in Portland, Oregon that fall. Over the next 4 years the quartet went through two member changes and placed in the Top 5 at each International Contest held. In the fall of 2005, the International Contest was scheduled to be in New Orleans, Louisiana, but with the devastation of Hurricane Katrina it was quickly relocated to Detroit, Michigan. It was there that Spotlight was thrilled to be announced the 2006 Sweet Adelines International Quartet Champions. The win was made even sweeter because the location of the contest allowed for numerous family and friends to be in attendance for the special occasion.

Spotsylvanians

The Spotsylvanians Chorus is an award-winning chorus serving Spotsylvania County and the surrounding area. We perform two major concerts each year-a spring concert in May and a Christmas concert in December. Our membership consists of singers divided into four balanced sections.

Springfield Chamber Chorus

Springfield Chamber Chorus acts as ambassadors, artists, and educators, integrating choral music into the life of our community through meaningful experiences for both singer and audience.

The chorus has toured throughout Missouri and Northwest Arkansas and had the honor of performing at the 2012 Missouri Music Educators Association conference and the 2015 Missouri Choral Directors Association conference. More recently, the chorus was selected to perform at the 2016 Missouri Music Educators Association conference in January. Founded in 2008 by Kelly Garrison, Jim Davidson and Amelia Davidson, the virtuoso ensemble tours annually and instills deep musical appreciation in both patron and performer.

Springfield Choral Society

Celebrating 46 years as part of the Springfield arts mosaic, the Springfield Choral Society offers an eclectic repertoire of secular and sacred music from the Renaissance, Baroque, Classical and Contemporary periods.

The Choral Society is known for high-quality performances presented in historically correct text settings and musical styles. Its body of work includes masses and motets by the great masters, carols and celebratory pieces and a range of outstanding contemporary choral selections. In addition, over the past several years it has commissioned four new compositions, premiered by the Choral Society.

The Springfield Choral Society contains an exciting mix of amateur, professional and semi-professional singers, some of whom have taught music at elementary, secondary and college levels. Others, while engaging in various professions, enjoy performing choral music as their avocation. Many singers have been members of other choral groups from around the country prior to settling in the Springfield Area. With its growth over these past years and its vision for the future, the Springfield Choral Society expects to continue its long tradition for many years to come.

Springfield Community Chorus

The Springfield Community Chorus has been making music throughout the greater Springfield area for over 50 years. Their repertoire ranges from the the earliest madrigals of the 16th century through to the modern Broadway stage...and everything in between! Over the years, the chorus has captivated audiences with their performances of major works from the choral repertoire, such as Mendelssohn's Elijah, Vivaldi's Gloria, Brahms' German Requiem, John Rutter's Gloria, Carl Orff's Carmina Burana, the Saint-Saens' Christmas Oratorio, Mozart's Requiem in d minor, and, most recently, Haydn's The Creation. The chorus has also performed with the Vermont Symphony! In 2015, twenty-five members of the chorus joined other choristers at Carnegie Hall to sing Mozart's Requiem in d minor!

Springfield Metro

Springfield Metro Chorus is an extraordinary group of women who gather together in celebration of the art form known as barbershop music. We are a member of Region 25 Heart of America and a proud chapter of Sweet Adelines International.

Springfield Symphony Chorus

The Springfield Symphony Chorus is an unpaid professional group of 80+ singers from throughout the greater CT River Valley. The Chorus is associated with the Springfield Symphony Orchestra which performs at Springfield Symphony Hall. The Orchestra and Chorus collaborate on many works throughout each season. The Chorus also performs in concerts on its own with chamber orchestras, our own accompanist, and other artists. Auditions for the Springfield Symphony Chorus are usually held in late August / early September of each year. Rehearsals are Tuesday evenings during the concert season (September - May), at the First Lutheran Church, 1810 Northampton St. (Rte. 5), Holyoke, MA 01040.

St Ann Choir

In addition to the complete year's cycle of Gregorian chant for Sunday Mass, the choir also performs medieval and Renaissance motets and polyphonic Mass settings for holy days and other feast days. Please join us Sunday for Mass at 12 noon - and holy days as announced - at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Waverly at Homer in Palo Alto, California, and for Latin Vespers in Gregorian chant at 6:15 p.m. at St. Ann Chapel, Melville at Tasso in Palo Alto, California. All events are Catholic services. Everyone is welcome. No cost, of course. The St. Ann Choir is not affiliated with the St. Ann Chapel Choir, the professional group that performs music for the 11 AM Anglican Sunday liturgy at The St. Ann Chapel.

St Charles Singers

Conductor and Artistic Director Jeffrey Hunt founded the St. Charles Singers (SCS) in St. Charles, Illinois in 1984. This thirty-two voice, internationally-recognized, professional choir performs throughout the Chicagoland area and appears as guest performers with other arts organizations in concert including the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and the Elgin Symphony Orchestra. St. Charles Singers has toured France and the U.K. and has performed under the direction of Timothy Brown, James Conlon and John Rutter (six times). SCS engages in educational and community outreach through its outreach ensembles and educational scholarship programs. The SCS discography includes three commercial CDs on the Naxos and Proteus labels and three self-produced CDs. In order to add to the choral music repertoire, the ensemble has commissioned new works from respected composers including Charles Forsberg, George Shearing, Robert Boyd and Gyula Fekete.

St James Cathedral Choir

St. James has long been recognized for excellence and leadership in sacred music. When it was founded, the church established what was to become one of the most well-known choirs of men and boys. In 1926, that gave way to an adult choir of mixed voices. Several leaders of American church music have led the music program at St. James, including Dudley Buck, Peter Lutkin, Clarence Dickinson, and Leo Sowerby, considered to be the "Dean of American church music" for his influential compositions. Made up of auditioned volunteers and paid professionals from the church, the choir's repertoire is rooted in the Anglican cathedral tradition, spanning sacred choral music from the 16th century to the modern era.

The Cathedral Choir is admired for its musicianship and beautiful tone. As music leaders in worship, the choir supports congregational singing and offers fine choral anthems.

St Martin's Chamber Choir

Founded in 1994 as Colorado's only year-round, fully professional choir, St. Martin's has delighted Colorado audiences for more than 20 years with its exhilarating sound, its exquisite blend, and its fascinating repertoire, drawn from 1,000 years of choral music.

St. Augustine Community Chorus

The St. Augustine Community Chorus is a non profit organization that depends on the good will of audiences, advertisers and donors for the support of our musical programs. Our mixed chorus is comprised of local and regional amateur singers from the area who love good music and enjoy sharing it with audiences.

The chorus traditionally presents three concerts a year: a holiday program including portions of Handel's Messiah; a mid-season program of popular songs and show tunes; and a spring program featuring major choral works. The concerts are held at the Cathedral Basilica, Ancient City Baptist Church and Kirk Auditorium at the Florida School for the Deaf and Blind.

We encourage new chorus members of all voice parts, especially those who sing tenor and bass, to come join us! New singers are welcome throughout the year! No auditions are required! Simply come to our first scheduled rehearsal on Tuesdays at Memorial Presbyterian Church. You may indicate your interest in joining by pre-registering HERE. St. Cecila Chorale

The St. Cecilia Chorale is a twenty member mixed voice ensemble specializing in sacred music from all periods, as well as other vocal chamber music.

St. Cecilia Chamber Choir

Directed by Linda Blanchard with the assistance of accompanist Sean Fleming, the Choir specializes in English choral traditions that rely on a straight tone (no vibrato) in the soprano and alto sections. Our mission is to present outstanding performances of the very best choral repertoire; to provide challenging musical opportunities to gifted local youth; to support our community with outreach programs; and to support Maine composers through the commission and performance of new music.

St. Croix Sacred Ensemble

We believe that sacred music is powerful and uplifting. We share a passion for creating a community through music, and strive to convey God's grace, love and light by sharing our gifts with others.

As a group of dedicated singers, the focus has always been on offering a varied repertoire of the highest quality choral music, from liturgical chants to world music. A cappella choir music is one of the choir's musical specialties. Our music making is offered to lift the spirit, to voice profound sacred thoughts and words, and to inspire the imagination of singers and listeners alike.

Our choir members come from western Wisconsin, the St Croix Valley and the Twin Cities metro area.

St. Francis de Sales Choir

One of the leading church choirs in Southern California, the St. Francis de Sales Choir is a voluntary organization that rehearses and performs weekly. We rehearse on Thursday evenings 7:30-9:00 PM and sing at the 10:00 AM Sunday Mass, as well as at concerts and events throughout the year.

St. George's Choral Society

St. George's Choral Society was founded on February 12, 1817 as the "Society of St. George's Church for the Cultivation of Sacred Music." While it was never the only choir at St. George's, the Choral Society supported the Church's regular music ministry by performing longer and larger choral compositions that did not fit in with standard Sunday services.

St. George's Church moved from Lower Manhattan to Stuyvesant Square in 1846, and made headlines throughout the 1800s for its innovative approach to worship. The Choral Society experienced two historic firsts: it was the first Episcopalian parish to allow female choir members, and the first white congregation to hire a black soloist.

The Choral Society lapsed during the war years of the 1940s and was re-founded in 1950 by Charles Kemmer. For more than 30 years, the choir performed at least four annual concerts of religious music. After membership dropped in the 1980s, the Choral Society was reimagined as a community chorus combining voices of all faiths to sing both sacred and secular music. The Choral Society incorporated as an independent organization in 2009. Today, we hold two concerts and a summer festival every season.

St. John's Boys' Choir

The St. John's Boys' Choir was founded in 1981 by the monks of Saint John's Abbey. The St. John's Boys' Choir has been delighting audiences for more than a decade with their performances throughout the Midwest, East Coast, The Caribbean, Europe, Japan and Canada. The St. John's Boys' Choir was established to provide Central Minnesota boys the opportunity to develop self-discipline, strong motivation, self-confidence and an appreciation of excellence through a well structured music program. Br. Paul Richards has been the music director since the choir began in 1981. He was replaced as conductor for two years by James Cacciatore while away for graduate work in choral conducting at the University of Iowa. Since his return, the program has grown to include a strong Training and Junior Varsity program to complement the established Concert Choir. Each choir has its own concert and touring schedule. Initially 120 boys auditioned for the 35 member choir. Since then, auditions have been held every January to replace boys who have graduated from the program. There are currently 70 boys participating in the choir program.

St. Joseph Community Chorus

It is the mission of the St. Joseph Community Chorus to foster the enjoyment and appreciation of quality choral music among its membership and the regional community by providing an organization of the highest caliber to present exceptional performances of choral literature. This ensemble is the largest all-volunteer choir performing organization in Northwest Missouri.

St. Louis Children's Choir

The Children's Choirs includes about 500 talented young singers (ages 6 to 18) from more than 230 schools in Missouri and Illinois who bring their artistry and love of classical, sacred, contemporary, and world music to the concert stage for everyone to enjoy.

Under the leadership of Artistic Director Barbara Berner, an outstanding music faculty trains young singers through a challenging and diverse curriculum with six ensemble levels that match the children's musical abilities. Now entering its 33rd season, The St. Louis Children's Choirs offers young artists world-class performance opportunities and a choral music experience that emphasizes musical excellence and character education.

St. Louis Chordinals

We are an a cappella women's chorus that sings four-part harmony in the Barbershop style. Singing is our passion, and our goal is to promote this style of music through performances both public and private in the St. Louis area, and to interest other women to join us in creating beautiful music.

The Barbershop style of singing has been a part of our American musical heritage for many years. The style consists of a cappella singing in four-part harmony with the singers conveying the meaning of the song through visual and vocal expression. Many songs can be sung in the Barbershop style, from jazz and rock and roll to folk songs and spirituals. Check out our repertoire to see the variety of styles we perform.

We have regularly performed for civic groups, charitable organizations and special interest groups, including Drummond School, Maryland Heights Civic Center, Veterans' groups and Meramec Bluffs Retirement Center. The St. Louis Chordinals would love to perform at your facility or event.

St. Louis Harmony Chorus

Since 1961, the St. Louis Harmony Chorus has provided the St. Louis community with the highest quality a cappella and barbershop harmony through its own chorus and through the presentation of world-championship groups, such as international championship quartet, costume designers, choreographers and vocal production specialists. The chorus is at the forefront of harmony-based adult choirs in the nation and vocal education in the community. Through its educational outreach programs, it takes master classes into schools and malls to take barbershop harmony - the music of the people - to the people of St. Louis, and the entire bi-state area.

St. Louis Women's Chorale

In the Saint Louis Women s Chorale, singers of diverse backgrounds come together in community to share their love of singing and the restorative power of music. Since 1995, the auditioned, 40-voice community chorus has kept a tradition of musical excellence and commitment to innovation and creativity, commissioning distinctive arrangements and works that often feature women composers and poets. While keeping classical music at its core, the Chorale joins innovation with tradition by performing many other types of music jazz, folk, Broadway, blues, gospel and collaborating with professional dancers, painters, poets, and instrumentalists to delight audiences with fresh, memorable experiences.

As the Ensemble-in-Residence at Maryville University, the Chorale introduces younger women to mentoring, leadership, and performing opportunities. St. Maries Choral Arts

The Premier Vocal Ensemble of St. Mary's County. Singing everything from Bach to Moses Hogan to Andrew Lloyd Webber to Carole King and Pentatonix.

Our Mission: We have a calling and responsibility to serve and enhance the artistic needs of the citizens of Southern Maryland through the singing and performing of choral music. We provide listeners with musical enrichment and engage in community partnerships that establish our choir as an integral and necessary Arts Organization in the life and culture of Southern Maryland.

St. Olaf Choir

The St. Olaf Choir, with 75 mixed voices, is the pioneer a cappella choir in the United States. For nearly a century, the choir has set a standard of choral excellence and remained at the forefront of choral artistry. Conducted since 1990 by Anton Armstrong, the St. Olaf Choir continues to develop the tradition that originated with its founder, F. Melius Christiansen.

Since its founding in 1912, the St. Olaf Choir has set a standard in the choral art, serving as a model for choirs of all levels. The ensemble's annual tour brings its artistry and message to thousands of people across the nation and around the world. The St. Olaf Choir has taken 13 international tours and performed for capacity audiences in the major concert halls of Norway, France, South Korea, New Zealand, Australia, New York City, Washington, D.C., Chicago, Los Angeles, Dallas, and the Twin Cities.

The Viking Chorus of St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota, is a group of more than 80 first-year student men who have been organized to sing the highest quality literature. They perform a program of music that includes motets, cantata movements, and anthems, as well as contemporary choral pieces, spirituals, folksongs, and music traditionally associated with men's singing groups.

The Viking Chorus was founded in 1935 by Luther Onerheim '37, when a number of students gathered informally, flourishing for more than 30 years under student direction.

In 1968, Dr. Robert Scholz '61 returned to St. Olaf, and was given leadership of this ensemble. Several years later, the Viking Chorus changed from a four-year ensemble to an ensemble open only to first-year men.
