Enchanted Mesa Show Chorus

The Enchanted Mesa Show Chorus is more than just an a cappella ensemble, it is a family. We love getting together each week, and sharing friendships as well as great music.

You'll have the opportunity to hear us perform four-part, a cappella harmony, and you'll be invited to join us on the risers to experience the music, friendship and fun for which Enchanted Mesa Show Chorus is known!


Enchanters

The Enchanters is a semi-professional chorus that has been performing in New Mexico for over sixty years. Entertaining for banquets, social parties and various special events, they offer programs with selections from jazz, Broadway, patriotic, classical, pop and old standards. Programs can range from 30-90 minutes.

The Enchanters sound is rooted in the choral tradition of their predecessors, the Bel Cantos, a choral group founded by Russell Bell around 1958. Combined, this represents about 62 years of continuous service to the community. The Enchanters is currently seeking a new Artistic Director.

By performing choral music, they seek to entertain and inspire audiences through the joy of song. Though the repertoire may include music of a religious nature, the Chorus has no religious affiliation.

The concert season starts as early as mid-September and extends through May 31. The Enchanters performs approximately 20 concerts each season, many at retirement facilities.


Encore Creativity for Older Adults

Encore's mission is to provide an excellent and accessible artistic environment for older adults, regardless of experience or ability, who seek arts education and performance opportunities under a professional artist. The primary goal of Encore Creativity for Older Adults is to offer our choral program to adults over the age of 55, an underserved population in the arts, throughout the country.

Encore is the nation's largest choral organization for adults over the age of 55. Based in Maryland, Encore has 15 Chorales and 6 Encore ROCKS rock & roll choruses in the metropolitan Baltimore-Washington area, as well as a Chorale in New York City. Encore's newest program, begun in September 2019, is the Sentimental Journey Singers (SJS) for individuals with early-stage Alzheimer's or other memory impairment. To-date, Encore has two SJS locations: Fairfax, VA and Rockville, MD Through Encore's Affiliate Program, Encore also has Chorales in Santa Clarita, CA; Denver, CO; Hudson, OH; and Reading, PA. Encore singers number nearly 2,000 across the country, a number that continues to grow as new programs are added.


Encore Vocal Ensemble of San Diego

Encore Vocal Ensemble of San Diego brings to the stage songs from musical theater, film, television, the internet, and any other sources that inspire us. From Broadway classics to modern show-stoppers, blockbuster film standards to independent gems, our shows are never predictable. We're dedicated to creating fabulous performances, continuing music education, and sharing our music with the community.


Encore Youth Choir

Encore Music Academy, originally called Northwest Community Music Academy, opened its doors with its flagship program, the Northwest Community Youth Choir (NCYC). This 106 member choir, for ages 7-18, rehearsed in the aesthetically and acoustically beautiful sanctuary at First Congregational Church of Crystal Lake, a donated rehearsal location. NCYC performed their first concerts in February 2006, singing to three sold out audiences.

School districts in the community continued to cut music programs, sometimes entirely. More and more elementary and middle schools in the area stopped offering choir and band as part of the regular curriculum during the school hours. In response to this community need, EMA launched additional programs like Summer Musical, Summer Camp Encore, Private Instruction (instrumental and vocal), and Early Childhood classes. EMA rented space for the classes and rehearsals from First Congregational Church. Encore also acquired donated office space to accommodate increasing customer service needs and additional staff.


Encounters

The Encounters originated in the Bushwick section of Brooklyn, mid 1963. By the end of the year they had a recording contract with Swan Records and recorded an original, "Don't Stop", written by Joe Venneri (Tokens)& Billy Carlucci (Billy & the Essentials). From 1963 to 1979 the group entertained in the Laurel's Country Club,The NY Hilton and the Friars Club as well as hundreds of corporate and private affairs.

They have appeared with and have opened shows for Earl Lewis & the Channels, Speedo & The Cadillacs, Arlene Smith & the Chantels, Lenny Coco & The Chimes, The Duprees, Randy & The Rainbows, The Emotions, The Devotions, The Dubs, Larry Chance & The Earls, Freddie Scott, Johnny Maestro & The Brooklyn Bridge, Emil Stucchio & the Classics, The Jive Five, The Passions, The Fireflies, The Harptones, The Monotones, Vito Piccone & the Elegants, The Five Discs , the Quotations, Kenny Vance and the Planotones, The Legends of DooWop and The Temptations.


Endolyne Children's Choir

Endolyne Children's Choir is a non-audition choir that provides robust and transformative choral education for all young singers. We empower our choristers to develop confidence, form friendships, and learn performance skills in an inclusive, equitable environment.

ECC creates enriching musical experiences through high-quality curriculum, diverse repertoire, and varied performance opportunities. Our dynamic, professional instructors set clear expectations and nurture children's artistic and emotional development. Our choristers build community, have fun, and always bring their very best.

ECC singers connect with, inspire, and uplift the greater community, while developing lifelong appreciation for music and the arts.


Enfield Community Chorus

The Enfield Community Chorus found its beginnings in 1976 when Alice Allen and Joyce Young collaborated on a musical, "200 Years of American Music" to present as part of Enfield's bicentennial celebration. Brad Davis, of radio and TV fame, was the narrator. Sixty singers culled from local choirs joined together and enjoyed the experience so much that the group has continued to present annual Christmas concerts and, for a time, Easter concerts as well. Celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2016, the group averages about 55 members and presents a free Christmas concert at the Hazardville United Methodist Church on the first full weekend of December each year.


Ensemble Alioni

Ensemble Alioni is an 8-member vocal ensemble founded in 2008 with the purpose of researching and sharing the ancient choral folk music traditions of the Republic of Georgia through performing and teaching. Ensemble Alioni has performed at the Chicago World Music Festival, the Evanston Ethnic Arts Festival, the Museum of Science and Industry's "Christmas Around the World" series, and for academic gatherings at DePaul University and the University of Chicago. Alioni periodically hosts music workshops and teaches Georgian songs, inspiring singers and helping to preserve these unique musical treasures.


Ensemble Companio

An award-winning chamber choir drawing membership from across the Northeastern region, Ensemble Companio lives out its mission "to build bridges between people through authentic, inspiring performances of the finest choral music" through its innovative programming, frequent collaborations, and uniquely accessible model.

Ensemble Companio takes its name from a Latin form of "companion", the etymology of which is "one with whom one shares bread." The name reflects the musicians' belief that sharing in choral music, like the sharing of food, is an essential, nourishing, and healing experience. With rehearsals and performances distributed throughout Boston, New York City, Philadelphia, and other locations along the eastern seaboard, Ensemble Companio attracts a diverse community of highly dedicated, exemplary musicians from a variety of professions who are unified in their passion for the power of choral singing.

Regularly performing local, regional, and world premieres of contemporary works, Ensemble Companio is known for its adventurous programming and vibrant, moving concert experiences. A typical season weaves together unaccompanied repertoire spanning from the medieval period to modern day, highlighting music by underrepresented composers, rarely performed masterworks, and choral gems of all genres.


Ephrata Cloister Chorus

Today's Chorus, under the direction of Martin Hinkley, is a dedicated group of volunteers which bring to life the music of the Ephrata Cloister as a special educational program of the Ephrata Cloister Associates. Wearing white robes patterned after those worn by the Brothers and Sisters of Ephrata in the mid-eighteenth century, the modern Chorus performs at the historic site and throughout the region. In addition to work from Ephrata's past, the group performs compositions from other early American communities including works from the Shakers, the Moravians, the Harmonists, the Kelpius Community, the First New England School, and African American spirituals. The Ephrata Cloister Chorus performs on-site and off-site in sacred spaces, concert halls, museums and historic sites.


Epiphony A Cappella

Epiphony is a 6-person vocal band out of Charlotte, NC. We are a multigenerational group who love performing together, and we have been an official group for three years. We sing pop, soul, and country arrangements - including many arranged by our group members.


Escondido Choral Arts

Director Joe Stanford has established an exciting program of vocal music to further the art of singing in our community, and to provide educational opportunities in music for young people and adults. We plan to fill the beautiful California Center for the Arts with the ringing sounds of human voices. Esoterics

The Esoterics is a Seattle-based vocal ensemble that is dedicated to performing and perpetuating contemporary a cappella choral settings of poetry, philosophy, and spiritual writings from around the world. While cultivating artistic expression and cultural understanding among its singers and audience alike, The Esoterics aspires to reflect the beauty, power, and significance that are inherent in the music of our time


Espressivo

Espressivo was conceptualized and born out of the desire to express ourselves through one of the world's oldest and most beautiful outlets: choral music. We desire to provide the community with artistically excellent choral performances.

Espressivo was created to provide the community with artistically excellent choral performances of high-caliber music. Further, Espressivo fosters an avenue where members continually develop musical skills and express their art while promoting community well-being through concerts, music education, and scholarship programs. Espressivo performs with other community concert organizations, participates in side-by-side concerts with a local Title I public high school, and holds an annual vocal competition to provide scholarships for students seeking an undergraduate degree in music.


Essence of Joy Alumni Singers

Founded in 2005 and comprised of alumni from Penn State's Essence of Joy Choir, the Essence of Joy Alumni Singers perform sacred and secular music from the African and African-American tradition, under the direction of Dr. Anthony T. Leach.


Essex Children's Choir of Vermont

The ECC was founded on the principle that every child can achieve excellence through the gift of music. Through the pursuit of pure intonation and artistic expression, we strive to nurture a child's natural creativity, joy, and individual ability in singing. Children discover the power of music through rhythm and beat, musical form, ear-training and sight-singing, vocal gymnastics, and improvisation.


Essex Harmony

The Essex Harmony is an auditioned, Danvers Massachusetts based, mixed chamber chorus specializing in "Singing School" Colonial American to contemporary American choral music. The group was founded in 2006.

The Essex Harmony comprises 12 to 19 members. The group performs mainly 'a cappella' and has occasionally featured piano, harpsichord, violin, and string quartet accompaniment. The Essex Harmony offers 3 to 4 concerts per year as well as special performances at different venues.


Eugene Concert Choir

The Eugene Concert Choir's mission is to engage, inspire and enrich the community through performance of choral masterworks, diverse artistic experiences, and educational outreach.


Eugene Gay Men's Chorus

The Eugene Gay Men's Chorus is a group of gay men and their friends who enjoy singing in community. Through the musical arts, we seek to create and enhance LGBTQ+ community and visibility. Our membership spans Eugene, Springfield, and many beautiful places in the surrounding areas of Lane County and the South Willamette Valley. While we identify as a gay men's chorus, we value inclusivity and accept members of all genders/orientations.


Eugene Gleemen

Under the direction of Hugh Windon on May 28, 1926 a dedicated group of 51 civic-minded men from the Rotary Club, The Kiwanis and the Chamber of Commerce became the performing group The Eugene Gleemen.

From our beginnings through today community service and the Joy of Singing have carried the Eugene Gleemen soundly into the Twenty-First century.

The Eugene Gleemen, a partner in the Oregon Cultural Trust, have been an active part of this community providing entertainment, inspiration, and outreach. Along with our two yearly concerts and our annual Valentine Sweetheart's Ball, we provide a variety of community services. Regularly entertaining audiences at retirement centers during the Christmas Holiday and participating in various occasions with patriotic songs sung at such venues as the Lane county Fair Senior day as well as providing stirring performances of our national anthem at Em's games and other occasions helps us stay connected with this community.


Eugene Peace Choir

In 1984, two sisters, Leslie Hunter and Karen Sequeira, sang on the railroad tracks to protest movement of nuclear waste by train through Eugene, after which they founded Eugene Peace Choir. We combined our love of music and the world we live in through singing songs that support peace, social justice, and environmental sustainability. We continue to strive to enhance our musical skills, enrich our lives, and deepen collaborations with other community groups to contribute to our shared mission. Eugene Peace Choir is a non-sectarian all-comers choir that welcomes anyone to join.


Evans Quartet

Trivia question: What quartet sang Lindy, Lucky Lindy for Charles A. Lindbergh in 1927 and, with a couple of personnel changes, was still singing as an International champion 50 years later? Answer: the Evans Quartet of Salt Lake City, the 1960 gold medal winners.

The song was delivered to Lindberg as he was making a triumphal tour of the country flying his "Spirit of St. Louis." During the parade in Salt Lake City, when his motorcade passed by, four young brothers, ages 7, 9, 11, and 13, stepped out from the curb to sing, in full barbershop harmony, the popular song. Lindbergh ordered the car stopped, listened to the song, thanked them and shook their hands.


Evanston Civic Chorus

he Evanston Civic Chorus was created in January 2007 as an open, non-audition choir that anyone could join. It was formed as a community class through the Uinta B.O.C.E.S #1 Education Center as a practical way for people to make music a part of their life-long learning.

In fall of 2009 an Executive Board was formed to carry on the work of running the Chorus. In the spring of 2012 the, the Evanston Civic Orchestra and Chorus board became the governing body of the Chorus, and membership was no longer by class enrollment.

The Chorus sings music of many types, including traditional choral, madrigals, folk, pop, barbershop, and musical theater. In addition to ensemble singing, members have opportunities to prepare solos and participate in small groups.

Each year the Chorus presents several traditional concerts for the community during the fall and spring seasons. In 2007, 2009, and 2011 they hosted the Evanston Community Christmas Gala, a biennial variety show where individuals and groups from the community perform for each other and the public. Since 2013 the Gala concert has been hosted by the Evanston Civic Orchestra and Chorus


Everett Chorale

Everett Chorale Ensembles - The Everett Chorale began a series of community outreach performances in 2006; ensembles of ten to forty singers sang at retirement and senior centers throughout the county. Since then this outreach program has grown and the Everett Chorale Ensembles have performed at many community venues such as Everett Silvertips and AquaSox games, the Evergreen State Fair and the "Festival of Trees" a the Everett Event Center and at many City of Everett events. The Everett Chorale also shares its knowledge and love of music with school children by performing in Snohomish County Public schools.


Everett Norwegian Male Chorus

The first West Coast Sangerfest was hosted by the one-year-old Everett Norwegian Male Chorus in 1903. Putting on a Sangerfest is a challenge for any chorus, but particularly so for one of the smaller choruses.


Evergreen Chorale

Ovation West Performing Arts seeks to cultivate an atmosphere of inclusion and respect for all of our performers and patrons. Evergreen Chorus

Evergreen is a chorus of women of all ages, singing a cappella four-part harmony. With roots in the uniquely American art form of Barbershop Harmony, the Evergreen Chorus excites every listener, performing timeless classics, jazz and blues, show tunes, and contemporary songs!


Everly Brothers

The Everly Brothers were an American country-influenced rock and roll duo, known for steel-string acoustic guitar playing and close harmony singing. Consisting of Isaac Donald "Don" Everly (born February 1, 1937) and Phillip "Phil" Jason Everly (January 19, 1939 - January 3, 2014), the duo was raised in a musical family, first appearing on radio singing along with their father Ike Everly and mother Margaret Everly as "The Everly Family" in the 1940s. When the brothers were still in high school, they gained the attention of prominent Nashville musicians like Chet Atkins, who began to groom them for national attention.


eVoco Voice Collective

The eVoco Voice Collective* is an award winning collection of singers of the highest musical, technical, and expressive abilities whose shared mission is to invite listeners into the extraordinary experience of singing, together. We are passionate advocates for excellence in the choral & vocal art, presenting evocative concerts and recitals of the highest caliber, summoning the power of the empathetic imagination to remind us of our shared human experiences.


Exboyfriends

Formed in 1993, the seven-member vocal band started their humble journey in small NYC music clubs and worked their way up to win the Audience Favorite Award at the 2000 Harmony Sweepstakes national finals in San Francisco. Along the way, they appeared on VH1, Nickelodeon, TNN, NBC's Today Show as well as several appearances on The Howard Stern Show. They performed regularly at NYC rock club Mercury Lounge and their classic rock roots even earned them opening act slots with the likes of The Marshall Tucker Band and The Edgar Winter Group.

Their debut CD, A Cappella's Dead (1999) was called the "classic rock album a cappella has been waiting for" (Recorded A Cappella Review Board). The album features inventive covers of Led Zeppelin, Van Halen, Yes, and Phil Collins' "In The Air Tonight". Their follow-up CD Karaoke Bar Brawl (2002) gained even more praise. Produced by Rockapella vocal percussionist Jeff Thacher, the album was nominated for two Contemporary A Cappella Recording Association (CARA) awards: Best Album and Best Cover Song ("25 or 6 to 4") and was one of RARB's "Picks of 2003" for favorite albums of the year. Karaoke Bar Brawl (named after a true event involving several band members) features loud & raw covers of The Who, Alice In Chains, Queen as well as two original songs.


Excalibur

In 1995 and 1997-2001, Excalibur placed in the finals in the International competition for the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barbershop Quartet Singing in America, Inc., SPEBSQSA , -- one of the ten best quartets in the world! Excalibur won the LOL District competition in 1991 and is the highest ranking quartet from LOL since Happiness Emporium won the gold medal in 1975.


Exigence

Exigence is a professional vocal ensemble highlighting artistry within Black and Latinx communities. Led by founding conductor Eugene Rogers and comprised of vocal artists including solo performers, educators, conductors and composers, Exigence celebrates the power of community and expression through choral music.


Exsultet! A Celebration of Voices

Exsultet is an auditioned women's chorus which performs a repertoire of choral literature across musical periods and cultures. Our innovative novel-in-a-concert format draws you into the drama through a fusing of action, poetry, and song.

We believe that creating music is much more than sounding the right note at the right time. Exultate goes beyond the notes on the page to bring you, the listener, the personal response that makes sound into rich, meaningful music - the language of emotion. Each concert program is designed to provide a variety of sounds, styles and textures performed in spaces specifically chosen for their acoustic qualities. Whether an a cappella Renaissance motet or a complex 21st century choral and instrumental work, our mission is the same.


F'loom

F'loom is an avant cappella vocal trio that presents cutting-edge programs of "language music" - original pieces that inhabit the fertile, mysterious realm that lies between pure language (speech) and pure music (song). F'loom performs original all-vocal compositions seething with satire, social commentary, pop diatribe, slap, zap, melody, poetry, and comedy.


Face

Face is a nationally recognized all-vocal rock band from Boulder, Colorado, bringing a new edge and attitude to the human voice. Using just five voices and a vocal drummer, or "beat-boxer," Face creates a rock-music phenomenon that has to be seen to be believed. No other instruments or special effects - just six guys. Considered "among the top 10 singing groups in the country," (Norm Johnson, Las Vegas Leisure Guide) they regularly wow sold-out audiences throughout Colorado, including such classic venues as Boulder Theater and The Soiled Dove.

Face was recently named "Best Local Musician/Group" by Boulder Weekly's 2009 Best of Boulder Reader Survey. In addition, Face is a two-time winner of the National Audience Favorite Award at the Harmony Sweepstakes National Finals, as well as National Runner-Up in 2005 and 2007. Face was also runner-up for Favorite Pop/Rock Group in the 2007 Contemporary A Cappella Society's Community Awards. Face has been headlining in Las Vegas periodically since 2007 to rave reviews, paving the way for even more national attention.


Fairfax Choral Society

The mission of the Fairfax Choral Society is to foster and promote the art of choral music, and to educate and enrich our community through the pursuit of excellence in choral repertoire and performance.


Fairfax Jubil-Aires

The Fairfax Jubil-Aires are members of the Fairfax County Virginia chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society, a society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barbershop Quartet Singing in America (SPEBSQSA). SPEBSQSA is the largest all male singing society in the world, with over 750 chapters in the U.S. and Canada, and with affiliate groups in eight other countries. In each chapter, members combine to form a chorus and quartets that entertain for a fee or just for fun. Each year, in addition to their annual show and their Singing Valentines, the Jubil-Aires chorus and quartets perform throughout the area at such places as the White House Ellipse, Fairfax City parade and fireworks displays, county and city parks, cable TV, ball parks, senior citizen residences, conventions, banquets, and other social events.

The Fairfax chapter consists of approximately 70 members who come from many backgrounds but share a love of singing a cappella close harmony.


Fairfield County Children's Choir

The mission of the FCCC is to provide children the opportunity to participate in a musical experience that is challenging, rewarding, and enjoyable.



Fairfield County Chorale

Our critically-acclaimed group is now in its 58th year of presenting great choral works in southwestern Connecticut. The mission of the Fairfield County Chorale is to perform a broad range of choral music for the benefit of the community, and to champion the appreciation of excellence in choral literature. Our growing repertoire spans from Bach to Bernstein and from Brahms to Britten. In its performances, the Chorale strives to present the deeper meaning intended by the composer, in the belief that this enriches the musical experience of not only our members but also the community at large.


Fairfield Four

The Fairfield Four, the most distinguished proponents of traditional African American a cappella gospel singing working today, were organized in 1921 by Reverend J.R. Carrethers, assistant pastor of the Fairfield Baptist Church in Nashville, Tennessee. The group, initially a trio comprised of the Reverend's two sons, baritone Harold and bass Rufus along with tenor lead John Battle, evolved into a quartet with the addition of a second lead, Lattimer Green, later replaced by Samuel McCrary.

The quartet sang a cappella, performing traditional spirituals such as "Ezekiel Saw the Wheel" and "Dry Bones" arranged and taught to them by Reverend Carrethers. In time, the Fairfield Four became professionals with Rufus Carrethers and Samuel McCrary emerging as singers of reputation, Carrethers for his rhythmic style of bass singing, and McCrary for his exceptional clear tenor voice.


Falmouth Chorale

Sharing with our audiences the joy of singing and communicating with passion marvelous and varied choral music which has been created though the centuries.


Family Folk Chorale

Combine about twenty families singing in harmony with a backdrop of some of the area's most talented musicians and some of the best-loved folk music around, and you have the one-of-a-kind Family Folk Chorale. The spirited energy of children, the honesty of teenagers coming of age, and the experience of adulthood and elders all come shining through as chorale members aged 1-75 raise their voices in harmony and invite audiences to sing along.


Fanatix

Fanatix quartet consists of Connie Noble, tenor (past international champion with The 4th Edition and Savvy and long time tenor of High Society); Darcy Newell, lead; Sandy Shelver, baritone (past international champion with High Society); and Gerry Papageorge, bass (past international champion (tenor) with Panache). They formed in the summer of 1998 when this kid from New Mexico and a big shot tenor and baritone finally convinced another legendary tenor/lead to make bass her new mission. They earned 4th place at their first regional contest (the highest they ever got!) and earned a wild card slot to international. They were thrilled to sing their way into 4th place at our first international contest in Atlanta in 1999! (This was Darcy's first international medal, and Gerry became the first Sweet Adeline ever to earn international medals in 3 different voice parts: lead, tenor, and bass).


Fargo-Moorhead Choral Artists

The Fargo-Moorhead Choral Artists, founded in 1980 as the F-M Chamber Chorale, performs choral music of all artistic styles and musical periods. The F-M Choral Artists rehearses weekly on Tuesday evenings from September to April. The choir presents three subscription concerts and an annual benefit concert. In addition to these regular concerts, the F-M Choral Artists regularly collaborates with the Fargo-Moorhead Symphony Orchestra, providing our singers the opportunity to perform major choral/orchestral repertoire.


Fargo-Moorhead Gay Men’s Chorus

Our purpose is to create musical experiences that enrich our members, challenge homophobia, and expose new communities to our message of equality. We create concerts to move you, entertain you, and make you think. Using music to change images and attitudes, build a stronger community, and make the world a better place! We are committed to: Providing high quality, skilled performances in an environment that maintains an atmosphere of integrity, honesty and mutual respect.

Our chorus provides a safe and inclusive space where singers can grow through performance and social interaction, and it campaigns unceasingly for equality and justice for the LGBTQ community, forging alliances to make our voices heard


Farmington Valley Chorale

The Farmington Valley Chorale produces public choral concerts to enrich the cultural life of the communities of the Farmington Valley.

We also encourage the development of choral arts in our communities and provide amateur singers an opportunity to develop their talents under an accomplished director.

In the 50 years since the Chorale's formation to celebrate the Town of Simbury's Tercentennial, we have produced two major choral concerts each year, most often with professional musicians and soloists. Recent performances include Brahms' German Requiem, Mendelssohn's Elijah and Handel's oratorio, Esther. Check out our Repertoire section for more information about our performances!


Farmington Valley Chorus

The Farmington Valley Chorus (FVC) is a membership organization of female singers who meet regularly to practice, perform, socialize, and have fun. Currently there are about 45 singers in the chorus of diverse ages, backgrounds and professions who sing a cappella four-part harmony in the barbershop style. Membership consists of women stretched across most of Connecticut...New Haven County to Hartford County, the Litchfield Hills to the Farmington Valley towns...all searching for an opportunity to express themselves in harmony.

Founding members consist of Sherry Ebner and Barb Ebner, former NJ Sweet Adelines, who moved to CT, met singers Colleen Sinkinson, Barbara Gerstner, Barbara West and Ethel Austin. These six friends founded the Farmington Valley Chapter of Sweet Adelines, chartered on March 22, 1975. All were from the Harwinton, Simsbury, and Hartford areas at the time, originally holding rehearsals in Granby and later moving to Simsbury.
