Bainbridge Chorale

In 1971 on Bainbridge Island, population 11,284, a group of music lovers gathered in the home of Gloria and Lou Goller to discuss forming a choral singing group. They recruited singers and an accompanist, and on Sunday, December 12, 1971, in the Bainbridge High School LGI Room, David Pence directed the first performance of the Bainbridge Chorale. The work performed was Antonio Vivaldi's Gloria.

In the subsequent 47 years, the Island's population has grown to 24,000, and the Chorale has grown along with it. We are proud to be a part of this organization, which has brought to our community all forms of music - classical, jazz, spirituals, show tunes, folk songs - in an ever-growing repertoire that includes choral masterworks as well as the music of local composers. Many other groups have joined with us in concert over the years, including our Bainbridge school choirs, the Bainbridge Symphony Orchestra, the Northwest Symphony Orchestra, Choral Arts Northwest, and the Cascadian Chorale, as well as string quartets, brass chorales, jazz ensembles, organists, pianists, percussionists, banjo pickers, and guitarists.

Ball In The House

Following in the path of classic harmony groups like Boyz II Men, The Temptations, and Take 6, with a mix of the classic and the contemporary, the five-member vocal band Ball in the House brilliantly blends a wide range of influences, from classic R&B to pop, hip-hop & gospel. With their extensive tour schedule (averaging 250 dates a year), Ball in the House reaches millions and is arguably one of the hardest working, most successful indie bands today. They have performed with such artists as The Beach Boys, Gladys Knight, The Jonas Brothers, Jessica Simpson, Fantasia, Blondie, The Temptations, Smokey Robinson, KC & The Sunshine Band, Kool & the Gang, and numerous others. All a cappella, but a sound that will astound and amaze you. 5 Guys, 5 Voices, THAT'S IT... A review from the Boston Globe put it very succinctly - "Ball in the House has everything you would expect to find in a successful pop/rock band....the one thing it doesn't have is instruments."

Baltimore Choral Arts Society

The Baltimore Choral Arts Society is one of Maryland's premier cultural institutions. The Symphonic Chorus, Chorus, and Chamber Singers perform throughout the mid-Atlantic region, as well as in Washington, D.C., New York, and in Europe. Anthony Blake Clark joined Baltimore Choral Arts as Music Director in July, 2017, and Tom Hall was named Music Director Emeritus. Clark has established new, large-scale collaborative performances with Maryland Institute College of Art, Maryland State Boychoir, and Peabody Youth Orchestra. In January of 2020, Choral Arts went on its first England tour, with a prestigious invitation to perform with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra.

The Baltimore Choral Arts Society provides a number of thoughtful and impactful music education programs that serve youth in and around Baltimore. These programs include CoroLAB, a new partnership with Overlea High School and Baltimore City College's choral music programs; Vocal Fellows, an expanded professional development program for early-career singers; Student Composer Project, a competition for high-school and college composers; and Christmas for Kids. Through these four primary educational programs, Choral Arts serves the very young to early-career adult musicians.

Baltimore Men's Chorus

We are a diverse, open, and supportive brotherhood of singers who strive to serve our communities and foster positive social change through artistic excellence. We celebrate diversity and strive to foster equity and inclusivity across our singers, staff, audience, programming, and the community at large.

Baltimore Vocal Jazz Ensemble

The Baltimore Vocal Jazz Ensemble is a an "a cappella pops" organization. It is a unique group singing five to nine part arrangements. The music ranges from swing and ballads of the 40's to the present; Duke Ellington to Madonna. If you liked the smooth blends of the Hi-Lo's and the up-beat jive of Manhattan Transfer, you'll love this group.

Bangor Area Children's Choir

The Bangor Area Youth Choir is a two choir organization. The Treble Choir is a training choir comprised of singers turning 9 during the academic year through age 16. The Youth Chorale is auditioned from the Treble Choir, changed male voices, or at the discretion of the director. Youth Chorale members will be no older than 19 years of age during the academic year.

One of the important features about BAYC is that it is set up to be a long-term activity and experience that grows and deepens throughout the years of the singer's involvement. We know that college admissions offices look at extracurricular activities - and we also know that what really matters to them is not the number of activities, but, rather, consistent involvement in a limited number over a period of years. The staff and board of BAYC work hard to have our organization be one that gradually and consistently builds musical expertise, character, poise, sensitivity and understanding of other cultures and eras, friendships with singers from a wide variety of backgrounds and locales, and leadership skills. BAYC is an organization that teaches young people how to sing better...but it is much, much more than that!

Bar & Grill Singers

The Bar & Grill Singers, all of whom are practicing attorneys in Austin, Texas, have entertained lawyers and non-lawyers since their 1991 debut in a one-performance musical revue. Now appearing year-round across the nation, the Singers spoof themselves and their profession with clever lyrics set to a variety of musical styles. They needle everything and everyone around the law, including clients, billing practices, legal ethics, bored jurors, and - gulp - federal judges. Over the past 18 years, the Singers have benefitted volunteer legal services for the indigent, and have raised over $300,000 from their performances and CD sales. The Singers have released three CDs, "Licensed to Grill," "Grilling Me Softly" and "A Time to Grill," which are available for purchase at their performances, from this website, and from

Under Beca's leadership, the Bellas went on to win three ICCA championship titles in a row. As of 2015, the Bellas have also claimed the title of A Cappella World Champions following their victory in the championships held in Copenhagen.

Bartlesville Barflies

n 1937 the American Legion in Bartlesville, Oklahoma decided to put on a minstrel show. New in town, a wiry little man by the name of Harry Hall who was born and raised in England, had produced a minstrel show in Pawhuska, OK so he got the job of putting this show together.

All the men in town were invited to participate and sing. Having some experience with singing close harmony, George McCaslin was appointed as committee of one to come up with a quartet. Just like that - abracadabra.

Basic Pitch

Hailing from a range of musical backgrounds that includes both professional a cappella and musical theater, the women of Basic Pitch founded the group in 2015 not just as an outlet for their mutual passion for singing, but to build a collective of strong women who share a love of music. We've taken our fun and boisterous live show to classic New York venues like the Bitter End, The Delancey, and Arlene's Grocery, and our diverse roster of songs includes covers by everyone from Stevie Nicks, to Kendrick Lamar, to the Spice Girls. Our name is basic; our music is anything but.

Basin Street Boys

Ormonde Wilson and The Basin Street Boys were a vocal / instrumental group from Philadelphia. Like such contemporary 1940's (pre doo wop) vocal groups as The Cats and Fiddle and Four Vagabonds they based their style, in part, on the hugely popular Ink Spots. Working swanky nightclubs they sung a mixture of pop tunes, jazz-flavored jive novelties, ballads and occasionally injecting some blues flavor. The burbling bass sounds and floating tenor style that was to mark early 50's doo wop had not yet emerged and their contemporaries specialized in tight, clean harmony singing, sometimes baked up by fine jazz musicians. The group began recording for Exclusive Records in 1946 and enjoyed their biggest hit that year with the ballad I Sold My Heart To The Junkman which enjoyed chart success.

Baton Rouge Chorus

We are an a cappella chorus that loves to sing and perform. Our style is Barbershop, which means four parts in tight harmony, some glitz, and a true sisterhood. We welcome singers of all levels of experience, age, walks of life, and from all parts of the Baton Rouge area.

Baton Rouge Symphony Chorus

Our chorus is comprised of volunteer singers who work toward a high standard of performance, often with a professional orchestra, to present choral masterpieces in various styles and languages. For this reason, we audition singers who have the necessary vocal skills, music reading, and pitch matching abilities to sing at an advanced level.

Recent works with the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra have included Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, Brahms' Nanie, Poulenc's Gloria, Mozart's Requiem, Mendelssohn's Elijah, and Orff's Carmina Burana. Also, with the BRSO, we perform the annual Home for the Holidays concert, including excerpts from Handel's Messiah, along with traditional carols, hymn arrangements, and secular pops settings.

We are often invited to sing major works with the Acadiana Symphony and Chorus in Lafayette. We have also collaborated with Opera Louisiane in programs of opera choruses and musical theater choruses as well as joining annually with other area choirs in a program of Gospel music.

Bay Country Gentlemen

The Harford County Chapter was formed in 1978 when its sponsoring chapter, The Chorus of the Chesapeake from Dundalk, Maryland, held an event at the Bel Air Fire Hall. The new chapter was chartered in 1978. One of the first orders of business for the Harford County Members was to come up with a name for its chorus. Many names were floated including The Susquehanna Flats and, jokingly, The Sons of Pitches but these names didn't seem to fit the character of the chorus. The consensus was that we wanted a name that represented the polished organization that the new foundling chorus hoped to be and yet include a touch of our heritage. Thus the name Bay Country Gentlemen came to be.

The Chorus of the Chesapeake was everything that any host chapter could be and more. As the Bay Country Gentlemen prepared for our first contest in 1979 we didn't even have a uniform to wear on stage. Not a problem as the Dundalk chapter provided us with gold tuxes that they were no longer using. On other occasions at contest we didn't have ties so as the Dundalk members walked off the contest stage they handed ties to Harford County members to wear on stage. To help us get started many of the Chorus of the Chesapeake members took on dual memberships thus bolstering the ranks of Harford County until we could stand on our own. That amazing partnership of so many years ago still continues today as several members of Harford County are dual members with the Chorus of the Chesapeake.

Although the club is centered in the Flushing/Bayside area, singers and audiences come from all parts of Queens, Long Island, and the Metropolitan area.

With over 1,600 selections in its growing library, the club (currently with more than two dozen singing members) works hard to bring its audiences fresh, challenging, and varied programs.

Beach Boys

The Beach Boys are an American rock band. Formed in 1961, the group gained popularity for its close vocal harmonies and lyrics reflecting a Southern California youth culture of cars, surfing, and romance. Brian Wilson's growing creative ambitions later transformed them into a more artistically innovative group that earned critical praise and influenced many later musicians.

Beachfront Property

"Beachfront" is not a piece of real estate along the ocean, but it is a hot property nonetheless. Described as sounding like "Manhattan Transfer" meets "Take 6," their smooth singing style combines the rich sounds of jazz with the fun and energy of pop music. They have shared the stage with Mel Torme, "The Four Freshman," "The Hi-los," Kenny Rankin, Crystal Lewis, "The Brothers Four" and "Emerson, Lake & Palmer." The success of Beachfront Property is found not only in a successful blending of harmonies, but in a blending of personalities.

"Not everyone can sing in a group like this," says Tom Dustman, Beachfront's artistic director and bass vocalist. "It takes a special person to give, and give, and give." The object is to entertain while also preserving some of America's most beloved classics, he says. "No one person is the star." Achieving this feat takes a great deal of effort and a lot of self-control, as the key is to blend the voices. Beachfront's four-part blend is spun out in seemingly effortless fashion creating mellow and exciting, woven-together-like-cloth chords that treat the listener to arrangements of familiar songs with a whole new sound.

Beat'achon

Beat'achonis the world's premier Jewish A Cappella singing group, bringing a fresh and exciting new sound to the Jewish music scene. Beat'achon's unique blend is part "doo-wop," part pop and rhythm & blues, celebrating traditional Jewish lyrics with a vibrant contemporary musical style. The six-man ensemble combines rich vocal harmonies and catchy rhythms in its repertoire of original compositions and arrangements, ranging from spirited upbeat tunes to soulful ballads.

Beat'achon was formed in 1991 by six boyhood friends who grew up singing and harmonizing together at the Shabbat table. The six midwesterners, transplanted to Manhattan's Upper West Side, decided to prepare a few songs for a neighborhood talent show. They were a hit! The enthusiastic response convinced them there was an audience for their music. Many concert opportunities followed, for which they continued to write and arrange new songs, and in 1993 the group recorded its first album, Beat'achon: Jewish A Cappella. To date Beat'achon has performed extensively in North America in such cities as New York, Chicago, Boston, Miami and Dallas and even as far away as Hong Kong, China, with more cities and countries to come.

Beatles

The Beatles were an English rock band formed in Liverpool, in 1960. They became the most commercially successful and critically acclaimed act in the history of music. Their best-known lineup consisted of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr. Rooted in skiffle and 1950s rock and roll, the Beatles later utilized several genres, ranging from pop ballads to psychedelic rock, often incorporating classical and other elements in innovative ways. In the early 1960s, their enormous popularity first emerged as "Beatlemania", but as their songwriting grew in sophistication, they came to be perceived by many fans and cultural observers as an embodiment of the ideals shared by the era's sociocultural revolutions.

The Beaver Valley Choral Society is a community choir that is made up of adult singers of various ages who like to sing!

Beelzebubs

In the fall of 1962, a handful of Tufts men gathered to sing in the basement of West Hall. They named themselves "Jumbo's Disciples: The Beelzebubs" and prepared an original version of Winter Wonderland for Tufts' annual Winter Sing. By the end of the 1963-64 academic year, the Bubs had recorded their first album, performed with the Boston Pops, and traveled as far as New York City. Throughout the late sixties and early seventies, the Bubs' popularity grew on Tufts' campus and on college campuses throughout New England.

In 1973, the Bubs celebrated their tenth reunion at Cambridge's Sheraton Commander Hotel. Unfortunately, the mid-70's brought harder times. Larger issues such as the Vietnam War, the Watergate Scandal, and the oil crisis resulted in less enthusiasm and opportunity for extra-curricular campus activities. Fortunately, a small but dedicated group of undergraduate singers, with the help of the Beelzebubs Alumni Association, managed to keep the group alive and strong by singing, traveling, and recording.

In a letter dated September 30, 1968 to the Burlington City Council written by Chuck Rucker the group "decided to refine our group, and rather than strive for quantity of numbers we are instead going to be more concerned with quality and musicianship. In short, we intend to become a very fine adult vocal music group which can become a desirable asset to our city and the surrounding area".
