As the true connoisseur knows, like with any other genre of music, all-female Christmas recordings have a unique and lovely sound to them that is a delight to hear. With recordings from small and large female choirs around the globe, we’ve got a little bit of every style of Christmas music, ranging from sacred medieval pieces and modern carols to performances of the transcribed arrangements from a Japanese internment camp’s choir. Some of these ensembles are “grown-up,” while others are college based. The Women’s Choral Christmas Recordings section is another one of our holidays-in-a-CD-case collections; have a seat, pop in a CD, take a listen, and relive holidays-past!

Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas was made famous by the 1944 film Meet Me in St. Louis, where it was sung by Judy Garland and this is complemented with O Christmas Tree, one of the most popular German traditional carols, and the original Another Christmas composed by series editor Alex L'Estrange and fellow composer Peter Gritton. A Christmas collection would not be complete without Jingle Bells, given a boisterous treatment here, although actually the song isn't about Christmas at all - it's about the cutter drag races in Boston, where young men would race sleighs to impress the girls! Songlist: Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, O Christmas Tree, Jingle Bells, Another Christmas Alexander L'Estrange : Christmas Smash HitsReview: Get into the festive spirit with this trio of wonderful new arrangements for choir, featuring all-time favorites Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree, Let it Snow and All I Want for Christmas, Is You. Guaranteed to have your audiences reaching for the mistletoe in no time! Choral Basics is a recently created series that offers straightforward and rewarding repertoire for the beginner choir. Perfect for singers of all ages, the series offers simple 3-part choral arrangements for soprano, alto and a combined male voice part. Consultant editor Alex L'Estrange has brought together an array of repertoire including world music, spirituals, pop classics, show hits and original pieces.
