In 1897, W. Augustus Barratt (1873-1947) set to music a poem by Gratiana Chanter (1857-1934). In three brief verses, it tells the familiar tale of a beautiful lady whose fastidious nature leaves her regretful and alone, once she has rejected all offers of love. Dr. William J. Bullock's arrangement brings the story-song to life and maintains a 19th century flavor. It is an excellent choice for high school, college and community choirs.

José Maurício Nunes Garcia was a well-respected 18th-century Brazilian composer. This Gloria comes from a Christmas Eve Mass he wrote in 1811. There has recently been a resurgence of interest in his work, as the world awakens to classical composers outside of Western Europe. This delightful setting of the Liturgical Latin from the Mass is an excellent choice for both church and school choirs.

When Jennaya Robinson visited Namibia, she discovered a wonderful composition with a warm message: Father, show me the mountain where I can climb to see your face, show me the way and world to dwell in your house and live in a house of peace... This is a compelling selection, well suited for both worship and concert programs. Its uniquely African sound will enthrall choirs and audiences alike.
Composer: Eslon V. Hindundu
