They are history. They are the governors of emotion. Influenced by the Bach Passions, the work crosses boundaries between opera and oratorio, with a series of choruses that run through the opera and range from powerful (Night Chorus) to ethereal (Ocean Chorus) to tender (Day Chorus). Beginning as if this is a Christmas madrigal in the style of the Swingle Singers, the singers reflect back to happy memories of holidays gone by. The optional instrumental parts add style and support to this beautiful ballad.

This setting of Christina Rossetti's poem Then Shall Ye Shout for unaccompanied double choir was commissioned by Help Musicians UK for its annual St Cecilia's Festival service and first performed by the Choirs of St Paul's Cathedral, Westminster Abbey and Westminster Cathedral on 17 November 2021. Rossetti's text describes singers biding their time and staying silent until the moment they are able to come together again and sing, loudly and with passion. The piece commemorates the period in 2020 during which musicians were unable to perform due to lockdowns caused by the global pandemic.

Charles Anthony Silvestri's lyrics beautifully capture the sights, sounds, and events that stir up memories of a loved one who has passed away. A passion for nature is also reflected in the lyrics and further brought to life through an abundance of text painting in the music. I know you are gone, but your voice, it lingers on.

Celebrating our earth's diversity and richness, here is a concert original for 3-Part Mixed choir. The text is adapted from an ancient Egyptian poem. The a cappella setting lets your singers shine while it explores elements of chant and polyphony.
Composer: Kirby Shaw
What a powerful juxtaposition of two iconic African American spirituals: Wayfaring Stranger and I Want Jesus to Walk with Me. I am a stranger in a strange land...how long must we cry out? This impactful work is simultaneously a cry of lament, a song of personal invitation, and a statement of assurance. Echos of past and current hardship (slavery, immigration, pandemic, injustice, isolation) are voiced by choir and soloists throughout this compelling piece and allow multiple perspectives into the text. A journey of sorrow and hope--worthy of the finest choirs.
