He Carried Me Away In The Spirit for mixed SATB chorus a cappella was written for the choir, Commotio, and their conductor, Matthew Berry. This motet is a companion to the short unaccompanied motet Pure River Of Water Of Life both with texts from the final chapters of Revelation. If performed together, He Carried Me Away In The Spirit should be sung first and can segue into Pure River Of Water Of Life A Piano accompaniment is included for rehearsal purposes.

Luminosity is commissioned by the conductor James Jordan of Westminster Choir College for the Westminster Williamson Voices, the women of the Westminster Schola Cantorum, the Blair Academy Singers (conductor, William Hammer) and the black-light dance company Archedream, for performance in Philadelphia Cathedral during April 2008. The text, compiled and edited by the composer, centres on the transcendent beauty of creation expressed by luminaries down the ages. Texts are taken from the writings of St. John; St. Teresa of Avila; Ryonen; St. Augustine; Julian of Norwich and St. Isaac of Nineveh.

James Whitbourn's Pater Noster for SATB choir unaccompanied. This work was composed for the wedding of Isabella Burns and Reed Pilegaard and is dedicated to Isabella and Reed, as well as the composer's wife, Alison, in celebration of their silver wedding anniversary marked on the same day, June 2016.

The Mystery of Love has been recorded by the Choir of Clare College Cambridge, directed by Timothy Brown, with the work's librettist Robert Tear as tenor soloist (EtCetera, KTC 1248: A Finer Truth). It was first performed in its present form by Robert Tear, Joseph Cullen (organ) and the St. Endellion Festival Chorus, conducted by James Burton, at the St. Endellion Festival August 3, 2001.

The Seven Heavens - The Life of C.S. Lewis In the Planets of the Middle Ages is a work by James Whitbourn for SATB chorus and orchestra. The piece was commissioned by the Belfast Philharmonic Society on the occasion of their 140th Anniversary Season 2014-2015, and first performed in the Ulster Hall on 30th May 2015 by Belfast Philharmonic Choir. The work lasts around 31 minutes and this is the vocal score. This vocal score is compatible with both the orchestral version and the chamber ensemble version, which are available on rental.

The March 2015 issue of Organist's Review gave Video Caelos Apertos a glowing appraisal, stating that it's a youthful, joyful and positive work which succeeds in capturing the visionary quality of the text.
