Amber Morris

Amber Morris

Living in: San Rafael.

Amber is fortunate to be one of the most sought after vocal coaches in the Bay Area. Amber has been coaching vocalists for over 10 years, her approach to developing the voice offers a new and healthful perspective. Amber's mission is to empower her clients with tools that will allow them to take their vocal skills to an entirely new level. Through her own bout with an illness, acid reflux, Amber's loss of vocal range set her on her life path. Through determination and labor of love, Amber was not only able to rehabilitate herself, but she takes this knowledge into her vocal training, offering singers a compassionate and judgement free environment to work through vocal issues and discover their potential.

Amber's students have appeared on national television series such as E! True Hollywood Story, American Idol, The Sing Off, MTV's Rock The Cradle and America's Got Talent. Many of Amber's teen students choose to pursue their singing further and have gone on to study at schools such as Berklee College of Music, The New School for Jazz NYC, USC's Thornton Contemporary Pop Program, Belmont University, The London Centre of Contemporary Music, Carnegie Mellon School of Acting/Music Theatre. Amber must be doing something right, she has high numbers attending these schools. She has worked with 3 of 4 voice students admitted into the competitive popular music program at USC's Thornton School of Music in it's first year, 2009; 2 of 4 voice students admitted in it's 3rd year 2011, and 2 of 4 were accepted in 2012, its 4th year. Amber has trained 6 vocalists currently enrolled at Berklee College of Music, 2 in Carnegie Mellon's School of Acting/Music and 2 at Nashville's Belmont University.

A California native, and transplant from Los Angeles, Amber grew up in the thriving SF Bay Area music scene of the early 70's. Her mother's experiences as a vocalist left a deep imprint, as she spent playtime backstage during concerts of legends in music history. As a shy 11 yr old, Amber was introduced to the stage through dance, where she found herself at home for the first time. By the age of 15, Amber cut her teeth singing backgrounds in her uncle's reggae band, Smoke, Inc. She went on to pay her dues playing the Bay Area club scene in search of the elusive record deal with various original projects, most notably Psychefunkapus and Burning TV. As a vocalist, Amber has performed in the capacity of both lead and background with many of the Bay Area's own music royalty
