The Aloha Chapter of SPEBSQSA presents its performing chorus and three of its registered quartets, the Sugar Cane Express, the Tiki Tones and Tropical Blend. Three of the songs, "Aloha 'Oe," "Hawai'i Aloha" and "Hawai'i Pono'i" are sung in the Hawaiian language. The rest are known as "hapa haole" (Hawaiian with western influences) and are exemplified in the "Hapa Haole Medley" sung by Tropical Blend. The medley combines "Pearly Shells" and "Tiny Bubbles" which are the two best known English versions of Hawaiian songs. There's a humorous look at Hawaii from a tourists viewpoint in the "Tour Of The Islands Medley." Fine singing will take you on a fascinating tour of the 50th state. Take it today! |
