Mixed Community Chorus

Based in Norristown, PA

Beginning with its first rehearsal in a local church in 1977, the Norristown Chorale has brought a rich heritage of choral music to the Montgomery County area. Now more than 60 voices meet weekly during the school year to study, enjoy, and perform sacred and secular music. The Chorale has gained recognition for artistry and high standards while it encourages participation from a broad base of the community.

The Chorale performs a repertoire of choral music spanning the centuries - from early renaissance through contemporary works. A wide variety of music has been presented, from great choral masterworks such as Mozart's Requiem and Handel's Messiah selections, to smaller a capella and accompanied works by various composers throughout the history of music. Popular pieces, madrigals, spirituals, folk songs, and show tunes are also included in the Chorale's repertoire, which numbers over 300 works.
