Community Chorus

Based in Peoria, IL

The Morton Civic Chorus is dedicated to making beautiful, entertaining music that in turn supports people with kidney disease on dialysis in our community. Through the contributions that are raised from the sharing of our gift of music, we hope to make miracles happen in the lives of chronic kidney disease patients throughout Central Illinois.

The first Kidney Fund Benefit was produced in 1972 by the Morton Women's Club Chorus after one of its own members succumbed to kidney failure following transplant surgery. For several years, proceeds from the show were donated to the Heart of Illinois Chapter of National Kidney Foundation. In 1976, the Central Illinois Memorial Kidney Fund (CIMKF) was created to focus patient assistance in the Central Illinois area. In 2004, we reached one million dollars for chronic kidney patients and we are working toward our second million dollars.

For 32 years and counting, the Morton Civic Chorus has performed under the brilliant vision of Director, Denise Adams. We are very lucky to have her guiding, teaching, and inspiring us.

For 6 years and counting we have had the masterful accompaniment of Molly Sloter, she is entertaining to watch and we are all thrilled that she has continued to work with us.

These Women focus us, drive us, and prepare us to create a two hour Musical Revue for your entertainment, and the financial benefit of the Central Illinois Memorial Kidney Fund!
