Monroeville Community Chorus

Monroeville Community Chorus

Mixed Community Chorus

Based in Monroeville, PA

The Monroeville Chorus was founded in 1953 and sang its first concerts in 1954. The group was founded by a group of church musicians who wanted to sing something other than church music in four-part harmony.

Since that time, much has changed about the chorus. We have changed personnel. We have changed styles of music. We have changed equipment. We now carry our own risers, keyboard and amplification equipment to each concert. We have changed directors and accompanists. We have changed audiences.

Now I know what you are thinking - "What's left?" We are STILL a group of musicians who like to have fun with our music and sing in four-part harmony. We STILL like to perform for groups in the surrounding communities.
