Mixed Semi-Pro Ensemble

The Maryland Palestrina Choir is an ensemble of diverse University faculty, staff, alumni and community members who share a passion for early music. The Maryland Palestrina Choir was founded by Janet Hagelgans in 2007 as a way for University of Maryland students to share in their love of Renaissance music.

It has since grown from a small student group of six to a larger ensemble of diverse members, including University students, alumni, faculty and staff, as well as College Park community members. We are an official student organization at the University of Maryland, College Park.

The ensemble is set apart by its emphasis on early 15th through 17th century music, but has also (at times) expanded its repertoire to include a broad range of pieces from medeival to modern times.
