Male Community Chorus The JMC was founded when alumni of the Northern Lebanon H.S. choir wanted to continue singing after graduation. At the first rehearsal 10 men attended and 2 women. At the next practice no women returned. Thus the Jonestown Male Chorus was born. Since the 1950 they have been a staple of the Jonestown/Lebanon area performing annual concerts, singing at retirement/nursing homes, community events, and even have done a flash mob at a wedding reception (invited). At our peak we had a membership of over 20 tenors, baritones, and basses but COVID took its' toll on our group. We continued singing but only at the annual community Memorial Day ceremony. In 2025 the men decided it was time to go full time with rehearsals every week with wonderful results. Although the group is smaller they still produce the sound of a medium sized chorus. Membership is open to any male who loves singing and friendship. Founded - 1952. Non-Auditioned. Rehearsal Information - Every Wednesday, 8:40-9:30pm Zion's Evangelical Lutheran Church Update This Listing |
