Delaware Choral Society

Delaware Choral Society

Community Chorus

Based in Dover, DE

The purpose of DCS is to bring the enjoyment of music by providing the opportunity for community members to learn and perform quality choral music through offering membership to all interested singers and (2) for community members to hear quality music by giving affordable concerts of high artistic standards at least twice annually.

The Delaware Choral Society is a non-profit organization, open to every interested singer without audition. We were founded in 1957 by a group of church choirs with the goal of working together to perform Handel's Messiah. Today, DCS welcomes any community member to join us as we partner with local and professional musicians, under the direction of Dr. James Wilson, to perform works such as Carmina Burana, Mozart's Requiem, and last fall, Haydn's Creation. We also enjoy our pops concerts with themes like Curtain Up! (Broadway favorites) and Musical Feast (songs about food).

Non Audition.

Audition Policy - Whether you’re a life-long choir member or new to reading music, we’d love to have you! DCS welcomes all community members in high-school or older who are interested in choral singing.
