Seattle Ladies Choir History
Seattle Ladies Choir (SLC) is open to all self-identified women over the age of 21 and provides a diverse, talented group of women the opportunity to learn and perform contemporary choral songs. The choir promotes practices that are inclusive, safe, and supportive. Our guiding principles include bonding over the joys of music, empowering a strong sense of community, and sharing these positive experiences with the greater Seattle audience. SLC is the only large non-audition chorus in the city of Seattle to focus exclusively on contemporary popular music. By foregoing auditions, SLC is able to embrace a wide range of backgrounds, skills, and ages, providing a safe space for members to build a community and perform in a professional setting. We are also distinctive in allowing our membership a democratic voice in music selection, with members voting on the songs that we sing each season. SLC's varied tastes and talents shine through in our love for modern music and our broad repertoire including songs by: Pearl Jam, Queen, Coldplay, Metallica, Imogen Heap, Florence + the Machine, Sara Bareilles, Guns N' Roses, Bruce Springsteen, Muse, and more! |
