The New Tradition (TNT) was formed in December of 1983. The quartet is comprised of John Sherburn (tenor) formerly of the Crown City Good Time Music Company, Dan Jordan (lead) formerly of the Grand Tradition, 3-time international medalists), Bob Gray Jr (baritone) formerly of the Grand Tradition, and John Miller (bass) formerly of the 1979 International Champion quartet, Grandma's Boys. The quartet placed 7th in their first trip to the international stage in 1984, won the Far Western District Championship in the fall of 1984, captured the FWD International Prelims Champion title in March of 1985 and went on to win the coveted Gold Medal in July of 1985...19 months after forming.

TNT sang on over 35 shows a year until 1989, when demanding work loads and families made it necessary step back and reduce their shows to one or two a year. They have successfully sung at least once a year since 1989, having just celebrated their 25th Anniversary in Philadelphia in July of 2010.

John Sherburn went on to sing lead with The 139th Street Quartet from 1989-1991, winning three medals with them in international competition and recording one album with them.

Dan Jordan went on to sing with The Dapper Dans of Disneyland from 1989-1995, formed The Perfect Gentlemen in the fall of 1998, they won the Harmony Sweepstakes Competition in 2002, have made three CDs and one DVD, have been singing together for 12 years now, touring the world. Dan also sang with Nightlife from 1988-1990, joined The 139th Street Quartet in 1991 and toured to Russia, Germany and England, made two platinum winning Christmas CDs with Neil Diamond, television appearances, and still sings with 139 to this day, as they make one or two appearances each year since 1996. Dan joined Hi-Fidelity in 2008. They are the 2005 Harmony Sweepstakes Champions and the 2008 Pan Pacific Champions.

Bob Gray Jr. went on to sing with Saturday Evening Post, International medalists. Recorded 3 CDs and toured around the globe with this quartet until their recent retirement. John Miller went on to sing with two of his four sons in the Masters of Harmony chorus and has captured three gold medals in international competition with the MOH. John has recently been appointed to the International Executive board of the Barbershop Harmony Society.
