Berlin Voices

 Berlin Voices

Mixed Vocal Jazz Quartet from Berlin, Vechta, Germany.

Four seasoned jazz singer, who previously made a name soloist, above all do together and pay homage to the group sound - four singers, four voices blend into a sound.

The press now says: "One of the most vocal groups span be the Republic." (Zitty) or "New Sound of fresh throats! ... You can expect a lot from this new jazz quartet from Berlin. "(Berliner Morgenpost)

For all the vocal harmony, the four are united not always vigorously debating and struggling together for the best sound. This positive voltage is transmitted to the music of Berlin Voices.

The group draws the possibility of a deep personal and musical familiarity: Esther Kaiser, Marc Secara and Kristofer Benn sang in 1998 in the Vocal Section of the Federal Jazz Orchestra (BuJazzO) under the direction of Peter Herbolzheimer. During the joint vocal studies at the jazz department of the Academy of Music "Hanns Eisler" under Prof. Judy Niemack (USA) and Prof. Jiggs Whigham (USA) they learn about Sarah Kaiser and exist in its current form since 2000. All complete their studies with the highest rating a major in singing.

Since then, the Berlin Voices could be heard on many concert stages: From small jazz clubs in the country to large concert halls. They played inter alia in the Munich Philharmonic, the Gewandhaus in Leipzig, the CCH1 in Hamburg and the Friedrichstadt Palast in Berlin.

If you travel abroad, inter alia lead in 2005 at the invitation of the Foreign Office in the distant Azerbaijan, where they present the first time with her swinging trio accompanying the program "States of Mind". But even with great orchestras make a good impression BERLIN VOICES: Others the HR Big Band, led by Jorg Achim Keller secure the four vocal sound for touring and always sold-out concerts radio.

In autumn 2006 there will be four vocal artists on the major record production, "Strangers in the Night - The Music of Bert Kaempfert" on Universal / Polydor as a soloist.

Now the voices finally lay before her first album: States of Mind - The Music of Billy Joel.

Berlin Voices : States of Mind

Review: Esther, Marc and Kristopher first sang together in the Vocal Section of Germany's Federal Jazz Orchestra in 1998 under the direction of Peter Herbolzheimer. By 2000 they met Sarah and began performing as a mixed vocal jazz quartet, from small jazz clubs to the largest concert halls in Germany; performing in the Munich Philharmonic, the Leipzig Gewandhaus, the CCH1 in Hamburg and the Friedrichstadtpalast in Berlin. "States of Mind" is a mostly-accompanied, jazzy, fun collection of 11 Billy Joel hits like "Just the Way You Are," "Piano Man," a nice a cappella cover of "Honesty," "New York State of Mind," "James," "Allentown," "He's Got a Way," "Summer, Highland Falls," "And So it Goes" and "We Didn't Start the Fire." The Voices have a fresh, beautifully harmonic sound, and they perfectly capture the sophisticated, moody New York feel of Billy Joel's music. "States" is a wonderfully entertaining tribute to a remarkable composer and performer.

Songlist: Just The Way You Are, Piano Man, You're My Home, Honesty, New York State Of Mind, James, Allentown, He's Got A Way, Summer, Highland Falls, And So It Goes, We Didn't Start The Fire
