Various Arrangers : Christmas JazzJazz educator, Michele Weir, has thoughtfully created a fresh new treatment of the timeless Alfred Burt classic, "Caroling, Caroling". The 5/4 meter creates a rhythmic and energetic feel. Michele's use of harmonic twists adds to the thrill of this unaccompanied work. A must for any choir that sings a cappella. "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas" - Tight jazz harmonies give new dimension to this traditional holiday favorite. This a cappella gem is a great way for high school, college, or community choirs; vocal jazz groups; or concert choirs to end their Christmas concerts. This new musical setting of "Bethlehem" the familiar hymn text with additional original text is the newest addition to our Jazz for Christmas Series. "Bethlehem" features an a cappella introduction and tight, jazz harmonies that build to a dramatic modulation in the piano accompaniment. The solo provides an opportunity for ad-libbing in pop/jazz style. The humorous a cappella work "New Dance for the Sugar Plum Fairy" is a reduction of the original orchestral work from The Nutcracker Suite. Michele Weir is known for her vocal jazz arrangements, but this choral is a departure from the familiar. Here Michele has crafted this familiar holiday favorite with adorable lyrics by Amy Engelhardt (The Bobs) into a choral work that is delightful and fun to learn and perform.
