Male World Ensemble from Georgia

The Marani ensemble, created in 1993, is a men's choir dedicated to the Georgian repertoire. Georgian polyphony has an absolutely unique taste. It is a music capable of intriguing and touching the one who discovers it as much as the discerning listener. The repertoire of this disc is mainly composed of songs with three voices. Medium and high voices are always soloists. The low voice is sung in the lectern. To come together and sing these polyphonies, whether sacred or profane, amounts to perpetuating and inscribing in the present an ancestral culture.
