Sterling

Sterling formed in 1995 through the collaboration of Randy Fly and Ross Larrison, and enjoy performing an exciting combination of energetic uptunes, finger-snapping swing tunes, touching ballads and gospel. This young, energetic foursome has earned to its credit the 1996 Southwestern District Novice Quartet Champions, 1996 Buckeye Invitational Overall Quartet Champion, Southwest Division Quartet Champions, 3-time Hill Country Chorus Invitational Champions and the 2002 Southwestern District Quartet Champions.

First formed in 1995, Houston, TX-based Sterling, performs an exciting repertoire of up-tunes, swing tunes, ballads and gospel music. The young, energetic foursome won the1996 SPEBSQSA Southwestern District Novice Quartet Championship, 1996 Buckeye Invitational, SPEBSQSA Southwest Division Quartet Championship and is the current 2002 SPEBSQSA Southwestern District Quartet Champion as well as current SPEBSQSA Quartet Semifinalists. So as expected on "Saturday Night" we find a lot of strong, sweet barbershop: the live "Eyes Medley," ³Old St. Louie,² ³Hard Hearted Hannah,² ³Sentimental Gentleman,² "Firefly," the romantic ballad "Holly Enters My Mind," "Bidin' My Time," and "Where The Southern Roses Grow" and others. A handful of nicely-done Gospel tunes may be the group's forte: ³No More Sorrow,² ³When I Lift Up My Head,² a ³Gospel Medley² and ³Stand Up, Stand Up For Jesus.² 14 songs total--an impressive first recording from a rising talent in the Barbershop world!
