Crystal Clear

Crystal Clear brings over 90 years of barbershop singing experience to the stage. Melissa, Chris, Susie, and Tabby joined together as Crystal Clear in December of 1997, and won their first Regional competition in late spring of 1998, when Chris was nine months pregnant with her daughter, Christal! Over the following years, Crystal Clear won their regional competition twice, were crowned the first ever female Grand Champions at the Buckeye Invitational competion, and have competed at the international level eight times. We are proudly ranked fifteenth in the world by Sweet Adelines International for 2005-2006.

Enough of the credentials... How about some fun details? Each of Crystal Clear can sing all 4 parts - just don't ask us to sing as low as Tabby!! And, you might have to come really close to hear sing Mel sing low, but she thinks she can and we don't like to burst her bubble. We have 3 dogs, 5 cats, 7 kids, 8 grandkids, 3 ex-husbands, 2 husbands-in-good-standing, and 1 hubby-wanna-be. We live in 2 states, sometimes 3, and we rehearse by conference call, twice a week. Oh wait... that's what we wish!!! Well, the dog thing is right...

To say that Chris DeRosa, Tabby Miller, Milissa Carmack and Susie Bonds are Crystal Clear would be an understatement! These ladies can flat out sing a Sweet Adelines tune and bend, stretch, blend or belt a barbershop note with the best of them. The element often missing in Sweet Adelines groups, powerful bass, is here, and especially evident on "Our God, He Is Alive," performed with Showtime & Legacy. Great arrangements of classic tunes, most by the mysterious "Volk," create a wonderful structure for Crystal Clear to let their voices soar. "Ain't Misbehavin', "Chances Are," "Original Dixieland Love Song," "Just Another Song About Love," "Orange Colored Sky," our personal favorite, "I'm Gonna Live 'Til I Die," "For the Sake of Old Lang Syne," "You're Nobody 'Til Somebody Loves You," the moody "Misty," sung with Riptide-15 songs, all excellent. This is Crystal Clear's, and our, "Lucky Day!"
