Kalingalinga is a place where people don't expect anything good to come out of if it. The Lord has proved the world wrong. The Zambian Vocal Group has risen above their circumstances and has become a blessing to the Nation of Zambia. Representing the Zambian children around the world, they have become true ambassadors of their country. Their positive and spirit filled message has filled the hearts of young people and adults alike. Their unique sounds and vocal harmonies have earned them recognition worldwide. In 1985, they formed a boys choir which later became to be known as the Zambian Acapella. Discovered by a visiting missionary in 1989, they continued to practice 6 days a week and May of 1993, came to the United States to perform at student convention in Arizona. Little did they know that this is the beginning of a long time ministry. The Zambian Vocal Group was formed in 1997 after some members of the Zambian Acapella decided to pursue different goals in life. Most members in the group have been singing together for nearly 21 years. They have sang for over a million students around the U.S. encouraging students to take advantage of education. Many boys and girls in Africa do not have the opportunity to go to school.

All-male Gospel a cappella octet the Zambian Vocal Group brings us a yummy collection of 12 uplifting tunes with rich, butter-smooth harmonies. Especially lovely are originals by group member James Mbewe, the title tune, "Chidzakhala Chokondwelesta," "Kulidzido M'Mwamba" and the sweetly rhythmic "Jalula Mulyango." Also wonderful are the spirited "Shut De Door," a cover of the hymn "Leaning on the Everlasting Arms," and "Thank You Very Much" features the endearing lyric, "Thank you, thank you very much, you are the Savior with a spiritual touch." The rhythmic traditional tune "He Gave Her Water" and "Robe and Crown" are other favorites. Inspirational, feel-good, toe-tapping music, from the first cut to the last!

Tuke 'ngilamo Shani Give Me Love God's Love Thank You, Lord If You Give Your Life to Jesus Chiyembekezo Changachi Jesus Knocks on Your Door My Jesus I Love Thee I Believe You I Wanna Be Like You Who is the Lord of Your Life |
Come and See is a mixture of traditional African, American gospel and original songs by James Mbewe. Compared to earlier recordings, this album has a much more relaxed sound. Though the songs are strictly a cappella minus the usual percussion, the beautiful singing is still present. "Kumbayah" and "Lesa ekachema wandi" are especially nice. This six member version of the Zambian Vocal Group continues to preserve their heritage through song.
