This celebrated chorus' third Christmas CD - eight time Society Champions, directed by Jim Clancy. Half-accompanied, we have to admit the a cappella tracks are our favorites: 'Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer' (The Blenders' arrangement!), 'What Child Is This,' 'Auld Lang Syne' and 'Toyland.' The Vocal Majority's power is such that they are most affecting as voices only - the tag of 'Auld Lang Syne' is proof of that. Guest vocalists Steve and Wendy DeCrow warm up 'Baby, It's Cold Outside,' and Rumor's tenor, Charla Clare, graces 'Ave Maria.' Bob Chilcott of the King's Singers' 'I Wander As I Wander' has a gorgeous string and woodwind score, and features Jeff Oxley.
