This is one of those historic compilations with pages of history in 5-point type and lots of cool old photos, and wonderful music that we haven't heard before but want to hear more of! This is brought to us by the SMGA, Southern Gospel Music Association, whose purpose was to build a Southern Gospel Music Hall of Fame and Museum, which opened in Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, TN in 1999. We just have to love groups called Rebels Quartet featuring Big Jim Waits, singing 'Hide Me Rock of Ages,' the Chuck Wagon Gang, singing 'Lead Me On,' and the Homeland Harmony Quartet (has nothing to do with Homeland Security), singing 'Lead Me to that Rock.' The Rangers' Quartet's 'I've Found a Hiding Place,' and the Vaughan Sand Mountain Quartet's 'I'll Not Deny My Savior.' Authentic, pioneering Gospel by some truly amazing groups. Beautiful and fascinating! |
