Primarily A Cappella is a San Rafael based music company specializing in vocal harmony. At the forefront of the growing national interest in a cappella we have a successful record label featuring artists such as The Bobs, Naturally Seven, SoVoSo, Swingle Singers, The Blenders and Vox One.

We operate a retail web site Singers.com where we sell vocal harmony recordings along with a large selection of sheet music, songbooks and vocal instructional material.

We also produce a series of annual concerts including the Harmony Sweepstakes A Cappella Festival.

Customer Service

We have an opening for the position of assistant manager. The position involves helping with the day to day needs of the retail web site along with assisting with promotion and marketing for the record company. The ideal candidate is somebody who is seeking an entry into the music business and wants to learn the trade. We are a very busy company with lots of different activities and a quick learner will soon have a good working knowledge of the music industry.

The position is full time Monday thru Friday, 10 - 6PM. We also exhibit at a few music conventions throughout the year and there is the opportunity for travel to attend these events. The rate of pay is $12 - $15 per hour.

Skills required:

Comprehensive knowledge of Mac computers and most of the common programs such as Word, Filemaker Pro and Excel. It is prefered that the applicant is familiar with web authoring programs such as Dreamweaver but we would be willing to teach a quick learner. It is expected the appplicant will be familar with basic web use.

Attention to detail, organizational skills and a pleasant phone manner is a must.

Knowledge of a cappella music would, of course, be very desirable.

Applicants with music degrees, experience with record promotion or publicity or mail order catalog management are preferred but we are willing to train a person with the right attitude, commitment and desire to make a career in the music business.
