The Doo Wop era lasted for just for a short period of time but this excellent and arguably the best of all the Doo Wop compilations is in this 4 CD Box set . Ranging from the years 1948 to 1987 it concentrates its music in the 50s where most of the best doo wop was recorded on small indie labels . There were revivals since the early 60s when the era ended and some of that is showcased somewhat here .

If you grew up in the era these tunes will give you goose bumps all over and being a jazz enthusiast I found that some of the tenor breaks in many of these doo wop classics nothing short of amazing.
