Eagle Eye Media's Live In Montreux series continues with a travel through time to June 22, 1969, featuring a performance from The First Lady of Song, Ella Fitzgerald. Featuring fully restored Black and White footage and remixed audio in 5.1 and DTS, this program presents a stunning performance from one of the most versatile jazz singers of all time. After making a name for herself as the featured singer for Chick Webb's Orchestra in the late 1930's, she began appearing as part of Norman Granz' Jazz At The Philharmonic series. She fronted for Duke Ellington, where she learned her bop style and also began adding scat into her performances. Her recordings of standards and contemporary classics helped boost her career from the 1950's until her final recordings in 1992. Joining Fitzgerald in this performance are: Tommy Flanagan (piano), Frank de la Rosa (bass), and Ed Thigpen (drums).
