Review: Dean Martin was an American singer, film actor and comedian. He was one of the best known musical artists of the 1950s and 1960s. Martin's hit singles included 'Memories Are Made Of This', 'That's Amore', 'Everybody Loves Somebody', 'Mambo Italiano', 'Sway', 'Volare' and 'Ain't That A Kick In The Head?' One of the organizers of 'The Rat Pack', he was a major star in four areas of show business: concert stage, recordings, motion pictures, and television. Review: Edith Piaf, born Edith Giovanna Gassion (19 December 1915 - 10 October 1963), was a French singer and cultural icon of partly Algerian and Italian descent who 'is almost universally regarded as France's greatest popular singer.' Her singing reflected her life, with her specialty being ballads. Among her songs are 'La vie en rose' (1946), 'Hymne a l'amour' (1949), 'Milord' (1959), 'Non, je ne regrette rien' (1960), 'l'Accordeoniste' (1941), 'Padam...Padam', and 'La Foule'. This is a reprint of the original Edith Piaf collection from G. Schirmer. It contains 10 of her most famous vocal solos, including 'La Vie En Rose' and 'Milord.'

Review: When Nancy LaMott died, at the age of 43, in 1995, she left behind five magnificent CDs filled with classic songs, beautifully arranged and played by her music director, Christopher Marlowe. She also left behind numerous other recordings of her signature songs, which through the years have been, and will continue to be, released as posthumous CDs. The songs are in a medium voice range, and could probably be performed by any voice type (soprano, mezzo-soprano, etc.), although mezzo-sopranos will find them most suitable. The music has quite a theatrical flair, although it is in a contemporary classical style. Distinctive repertoire with a twist. Arnold Weinstein's texts are as pithy as Bolcom's settings of them.
