Why Do You Have to Go?

It's 1957, and Tony Acaron and his buddies are singing a Frankie Lymon and the Teenagers song on the corner of 138th St. & Cypress Ave. in the Bronx. Taking their name from movie "The Robe," where Victor Mature" was made a Roman Tribune, the group recorded hit singles like 1962's "Code of Love" and appeared at The Apollo theater in Harlem and Birdland in NYC. Today, with some new voices, they're back, making new fans performing their music in NYC. 18 songs, some of our favorites: the title tune, "Solitaire," "Zoom," "Chapel of Dreams," "Erlene," "When I Fall In Love," "Valerie" and a great "Drifters Medley." This is the good deep-bass streetcorner stuff, the Doo-Wop that started it all!
