
Anne Peckham is a singer, voice teacher, and choral conductor. Recently promoted to the rank of Professor in the Voice Department at Berklee College of Music, Anne teaches private voice lessons and directs the Berklee Concert Choir. She has developed curriculum for 'Elements of Vocal Technique,' a lab required of all of Berklee's vocal students. She also co-founded the college's 'Musical Theater Workshop,' a class that culminates each semester with recitals featuring full shows and scenes. Anne is the author of The Contemporary Singer, a book/cd set published by Berklee Press/Hal Leonard. One of Berklee Press' biggest sellers, The Contemportary Singer has recently been released in a Japanese translation. A member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing, Anne served as the Vice President of the board of directors of the association's Boston Chapter and co-chaired the chapterÕs annual Song Festival. She frequently appears as a clinician and adjudicator for choral and song festivals in the US and Canada.
In 1998 Anne traveled to Montreal as a clinician (show and jazz choir specialist) for International Music Festivals. In 2002 Anne presented vocal workshops about contemporary singing styles in Dublin, Ireland. She was also chosen from over 600 applicants to present a workshop at the MENC national conference held in Nashville (April of 2002). In February, 2001, Anne had an article published in Berklee Today entitled ÒWinter Health Tips for Vocalists.Ó ÒPentatonic Exercises for SingersÓ will be printed in the juried publication The Journal of Singing in early 2003. Anne sang with the Tanglewood Festival Chorus for four years, performing on two CDs with the Boston Pops, and had a featured solo solo in their televised Gilbert and Sullivan presentation, shown on PBS. She has performed with regional theater companies, was the principal section leader at the Congregational Church of Needham for 11 years, and is currently singing in recital and cabaret venues.
