The Angels are three female session singers from Los Angeles. Their collective talent and experience has produced a wonderfully harmonious, gospel-oriented contemporary CD. 'Deck The Halls' employs their three voices with impressive versatility, changing voicings, varying between two and three part harmony, and using rests to create drama. Likewise, 'We Three Kings,' which has a lower tessitura, adds the high soprano 'alleluias' as a cherry on top, to finish the arrangement (the group does their own arranging). 'Go Where I Send Thee' and 'Joy To The World' are inspiring spirituals, beginning with solid harmony, but then opening up, the voices riffing off of each other, echoing in response and improvising through the blues scale. Some percussion, guitar and harp on four tracks.
