Voices of Lee
Excellence in harmony, spirit, and performance depicts Lee University's newest choral troupe. Since their debut in September '94, their intense musical focus has captivated audiences worldwide. Directed by Danny Murray, this sixteen-member group is characterized by their unique variety of lush vocal harmonies, high-energy patriotic numbers, fun-filled audience participation, as well as heart-felt gospel favorites. The Voices of Lee have appeared on "Good Morning America", Bill Gaither's "Familyfest", and in some of America's most noted churches and conferences such as Christ Church of Nashville, Tennessee. Their convention appearances have taken them from Israel to Ontario and numerous U.S. cities.
Veteran Church musician, Danny Murray has coached collegiate-aged musicians for over 25 years at Lee University. Former promotions Director for Bill Gaither & SpringHouse, Danny and Debbie Murray founded and directed the ensemble NEW HARVEST, recording some 11 projects and toured Internationally for 15 years. He also served as Music Minister for the North Cleveland Church of God, served on the Church of God Music Ministries Board, program Director for Teen Talent, a former Assistant Director and Director of the Lee Singers. He's currently the Director of Lee's premier ensemble The Voices of Lee -a 16-member vocal group performing each week in church concerts, conventions and civic functions. Danny is a favorite choral clinician who brings practical instruction, humor and lots of heart to inspire singers to present their musical worship with excellence. He is married to Dr. Deborah Murray, Dean of the College of Education at Lee University and they have three daughters and one son.

One Voice |
Eight men and six women form the acclaimed Voices of Lee (University of Cleveland, TN), directed since their debut in 1994 by Danny Murray, apply their rich harmonic blend and top-drawer soloists to their fourth winning album. "Encore" begins with Barry Manilow's "One Voice," a jazzy, upbeat "Power in Praisin' the Lord," a striking, powerful vocal-percussion gem, "Mercy Seat," the heartfelt "Ho, Everyone Who Is Thirsty" (arranged by Derrick Johnson), a scattish, bright arrangement of "Lord, I Lift Your Name on High," the Doo-Woppy Gospel number "When God Dips His Love," the traditional hymns "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Have You Met Jesus" (both also arranged by Johnson), and a bonus track of "Mercy Seat," our personal favorite. Ten songs in total, and there's not a weak track among them. Confident solos, solid harmonies, great arrangements—"Encore" just knocked our socks off! It's one of the best Contemporary Christian albums we've heard this year.

This Christian university choir has been performing at a high level for many years under the expert guidance of director Danny Murray. The choir alumni boast a host of talented singers some of who now have successful music careers and who appear on this live concert DVD such as Doyle Dykes, Babbie Mason, Jay Demarcus and Ryan Wilson. We believe that Lee's University's Voices Of Lee is one of the finest Christian a cappella ensembles performing today and their excellence shines thru in this well produced DVD. A nice bonus is that four members of the ensemble also makes up the International Barbershop quartet champions Four Voices who step to the front to perform a couple of dynamic songs. This 2 DVD set has over two hours of performances and with it's high quality production values it will be a show you will watch over and over.

The King Is Coming |
This CD and accompanying songbook will be sure to challenge and delight a cappella choirs in search of that perfect holiday or themed selection for their repertoire. Performed by the sixteen-member mixed voice "Voices of Lee,"from Cleveland, Tennessee (and directed by Danny Murray), the songs include "The Star-Spangled Banner,""All Rise,""Silent Night, Holy Night" and eight more. Seven of the arrangements are by the Voices of Liberty's Derric Johnson, with the remainder by Murray, Bradley Knight and Dave Williamson. Johnson's grand signature style is sure to inspire, and those familiar with his work will know that a fair degree of skill is required to master his scores - though that effort is well worth the result! Mostly SATB with soloist.
