Directed by P. Bradley Logan
Pride of Bemidji, Minnesota, home of Bemidji State University, the 65-strong, mixed-voice Bemidji Choir, the men's chorus Musikanten and the elite 14-16 strong Chamber Singers brings us their 7th beautiful recording, directed by Professor of Music P. Bradley Logan. Founded in 1937 by Carl O. Thompson, the ensemble has toured extensively and gained a national and international reputation for excellence. Most of these 22 selections, 14 by the Choir, 2 by Musikanten and 6 by the Chamber Singers, are sacred tunes like John Beck's 'Gloria,' Orlando Gibbons' 'Hosanna to the Son of David,' Georg Schumann's soaring 'Herr, wie lang,' Edwin Fissinger's spiritual 'Didn't My Lord Deliver Daniel,' and the traditional 'Mary Had a Baby.' 'Die Rose stand im Tau' and 'Dulaman' by Musikanten and Tchaikovsky's 'The Crown of Roses,' Robert Young's 'Herself is a Rose Who Bore the Rose,' and John Joubert's 'There is No Rose of Such Virtue' by the Chamber Singers are all favorites. Another fine collection by one of America's best choirs. Listen to VoiceDance in RealAudio. |
