A 1983 Mayoral proclamation from his adopted city of Denver, Colorando, best describes the life and work of Jean Berger. The proclamation reads: 'Jean Berger Day: scholar, linguist, distinguished choral conductor, musicologist and composer.' The State of Colorado futher honored the composer by conferring the Governor's Award for Excellence in the Arts in 1985. Belmont Chorale does an excellent job with eight of Berger's finest choral works.
