Directed by Dr. Timothy Seelig
On April 5, 1998 The Women's Chorus of Dallas performed the music from this CD in Dallas; exactly 100 women on stage in authentic 1940s attire. The artistic director, and the only man at TWCD rehearsals, is Dr. Tim Selig. Their principal accompanist and arranger is Anne Albritton, whose piano graces all the songs. There are 17 great songs from the 40s here, but actually many more; 'Train Medley,' for instance, includes 'Take the A Train,' 'Atchison, Topeka and the Santa Fe,' 'Chattanooga Choo-Choo,' and 'Choo-Choo Ch'Boogie.' There's a wonderful booklet included with photos and dedications and memories. The audience, many of whom got through the 40s with the help of this wonderful music, loved it, and so will you! |
