To our expectations that the sun will rise, the flowers grow and taxes will be due, we can add the Vocal Majority being named SPEBSQSA's International Chorus Champions again! And it's easy to see why, from their wonderful "Sweetheart of Sigma Chi" and "Mardi Gras/Parade" medley on this cd from the huge 2000 Kansas City convention. But they only need glance over their collective shoulders to see 22 other great groups, and why competition is as good for choruses as it is for phone service. From Silver Medalist New Tradition to the Big Chicken Chorus (6th place), the Senate-Aires (14th), and Men of A-Chord (ouch, 20th), to Whale City Sound (23nd), they all sing their lungs out. So whether or not the Majority is hearing footsteps, we're hearing, once again, great choral music!
